My go-to salt!! Not too smokey or overpowering, beautiful decore-worthy crystals. Just pinch or crush them in the palm of your hand before sprinkling onto your food. Makes an experience out of salting food whether at the table or while cooking. Plus more mindful of how much your using. This is a very special salt! ❤️

Wonderful taste and texture that enhances eating experience
Well... people are right, this is a very expensive, very flaky and very smoked sea salt. The thing is that the flavor of this salt is so amazing, I simply can't be bothered to care it's too flaky and expensive. Salt is salt in the end... but the Maldon Smoked Sea Salt not only enhances flavors, it makes food absolutely delicious.I use this salt to finish a good meal, it's too expensive (and fancy) to use for basic cooking. While it pairs best with great quality steaks (beef or salmon), poached eggs and grilled veggies, I'll use it any time I want to elevate a dish. It works with chicken, fish, raw crunchy veggies (as a snack), sun ripped raw heirloom tomatoes.The smoked flavor is quite intense, but natural and indeed it enhances the taste of food rather than overpowering it. It has a complex taste... sometimes I get even a bacon-like vibe.The flakes are quite large and edgy (but somewhat still light), I find it best to let the moisture of the dish `soften` the flakes before savoring it. Although sometimes I enjoy the extra depth of crunchiness and texture they add.I transferred the salt in a jar that seal very tight, to minimize air exposure. The plastic bag it originally comes in is very thin, I'm amazed how the flavor didn't get lost in storage.The salt can be also kept in the freezer, but still (although pricey) it's not a salt you want to save for too long. The smoked flavor starts to diminish with time, so better enjoy it at it's peak.

Good Product, But Keeps Arriving Mangled
I love this flaky smoked salt, it has a noticeable but not overpowering smoky flavor! However, recently the boxes keep arriving in worse and worse condition from Amazon. The latest on looked like it had been smashed flat by something large and heavy and the bag had a small hole so some of the salt escaped into the outer Amazon bag, yet none of the other items in the same package had any apparent damage and the outer bag was unscathed. Probably need to start buying this from somewhere else if I want intact boxes without having to go through the hassle of returns.

Sooooo good!!!
We’ve been using Maldon salt for years. I saw Smoked Maldon Salt, so I had to try it! Oh my, is this stuff good. We love it in our omelettes. Excellent on meats and beans too. You can definitely taste the smoke. Will continue to buy. *buy a bamboo salt container-keeps it very fresh!!

Fabulous finishing salt!
This is a finishing salt with lovely big flakes and a beautiful subtle smoke flavor. I have both the regular Maldon Sea flakes and the smoked on my table. I realize that I only reach for the smoked now. I use it virtually every meal; just a little pinch with a few flakes sprinkled over my meal. Adds a nice punch to everything!For those who think it’s expensive… compared to table salt or even regular sea salt, sure, pound for pound it’s more expensive. But this is not for cooking. You don’t sub this in your recipes. That would be a total waste of this product. It’s a finishing salt, meant to be lightly sprinkled over your dish where the large flakes burst out in flavor when you get a bite. As I said, I use it every night, and even generously sprinkle over homemade focaccia before baking (which I make every 2-3 weeks), and it still takes me 3 years to go through a box.
