Good Stuff, Expensive
This substrate is very chunky and comes very dry and clean. It will not make a mess when repotting, and is probably one of the best options for plants that need a lot of aeration in their substrate. There is a tiny bit of sphagnum moss in this, but I don’t think it’s enough to make any noticeable difference tbh. It’s very sparse. But regardless, I like this. It’s very chunky and even though I haven’t had anything planted in it for more than a week, I can tell that it’s going to be very hard to overwater and it’s going to be highly aerated. If you want to have a little more water retention just buy a little block of sphagnum moss (a little block of that stuff creates a TON of wet moss), or if you want to fill in the open space between the chunks you could use some perlite, or even some Aroid mix. See my second picture for what the majority of this product looks like. It’s difficult to pot an orchid with this if you’ve never done it before. In hindsight I would say to wet this product first, so that it has some weight to it, which will help to keep the plant upright. Otherwise you’ll have to continuously hold the plant up or stake it to keep it upright will filling the pot. It’s extremely light and blocky when dry.So I like everything about this stuff, nothing I mentioned is a negative to me (just trying to be helpful by pointing it out everything I can think of), but there is one negative; it seems expensive for what you get. For the mini bag, I was able to repot two orchids from 4” pots to one of each 5” and 6” pots, but I had to use a bunch of sphagnum moss, perlite and even some of the drier material from my Aroid Mix to fill the pots. It wasn’t enough for the two pots alone, at $20. I’m guessing the mini bag would fill about 1-1.5 pots which are 5-6” typical height pots. If you have repot multiple plants or you’re using large pots, you’re going to need a lot more than just the 2 quart mini bag (a quart is about 1 liter, it’s a little less, but remember this is very chunky stuff so a volume measurement isn’t super helpful because you’re cramming it all together in a pot much more than it is when it’s sitting loosely in the bag).

My orchid loves this stuff
I received an orchid as a gift 2 years ago and it was essentially my first ever plant. I had no idea how to care for it and after 1.5 years it was somehow still alive, but the one flower it had was long gone and it wouldn't put out a new one. I bought this stuff after orchid reddit recommended it and put my orchid in a sunny spot and it's putting out FIVE new flower spikes and it put out 3 new leaves. Thank you reddit and thank you to this soil blend lol

I'm impressed. Our failing orchids already look better after I re-potted them using this product.

It is dusty, so hold your breath when unbagging it.
Seems to be good so far, this my first transplant of an orchid.

Perfect potting mix - happy plant
Perfect phalaenopsis orchid potting mix. I needed to replant my 6-quart orchid and this was just enough with a little left over. I needed to moisten the soil, which is fine by me so it won’t go bad (hopefully), and be available for another plant. Repeat shopper of this buyer/product and have had great luck.
