It is salty
So let me start by saying this bacon is extremely salty, which it is supposed to be. If you cut this into slices and fry it up and start eating it you are going to be disappointed. Use in a recipe that requires bacon and leave out some of the salt from the recipe. I tried a slice, fried it up, ingested and almost went into kidney failure. I made it with navy beans and cornbread and could not be happier with the product. I cooked some up with fried potatoes, peppers and onion and did not add salt to the potatoes and it was perfect combo. I think this could also be good in the summer for BLTs with avocado, I say summer because grocery store tomatoes suck, it really needs a garden tomato.DON'T EAT IT STRAIGHT! Pair it with something or risk a toxic overdose of NaCl (Sarcasm)Some people have also commented on the fat content, I found it to be comparable to regular refrigerated grocery store bacon. I have not tried to use the fat for cooking spanish rice yet but I will soon. Bacon is supposed to be fatty, it what makes it good. Don't eat it all in one sitting, moderation is good.I think for the price of this bacon one should have a plan of what to do with two pounds before opening. Also have some parchment or wax paper for what you do not use immediately.Enjoy and experiment.

Terrific as usual but NO BISCUIT CUTS?
Ive bought this excellent quality product twice before, accompanied by the wonderful, scrumptious biscuit cut packets which, to my disappointment, didn’t accompany the bacon slabs this time. However, the bacon is delicious and I love that it carries the rind. It’s an excellent flavouring for soups and other dishes after a bit of rendering.

A bacon treat...
This is truly the best old fashioned salt cured bacon I have had in fifty years. One taste reminds me of hog butchering day in the winter, and climbing the attic steps up to the attic to see and smell the wonderful hickory flavored hams and bacon slabs hanging from the rafters. When frying in the skillet, this bacon doesn't shrivel up and cook away like the "bacon" you buy at the store. A little more expensive and worth every penny!

The bacon was too salty. The package said sugar cured but it was too salty to eat. contacted the seller and had no response.

I love it
I buy this product to smoke and use in soups and as a flavoring in other cooking. It is great for that purpose. I've never sliced it to eat as bacon, so I can't comment on that. I've bought this bacon for ten or more years, and it is a consistent product.
