Efficient and useful
I recently added an electric griddle to my kitchen appliances, and I am thrilled with its performance! This versatile appliance has quickly become a staple in my cooking routine. I love how spacious the cooking surface is, allowing me to prepare multiple items at once, from pancakes and eggs to grilled sandwiches and veggies. The adjustable temperature control ensures precise cooking every time, whether I'm looking for a gentle simmer or a high-heat sear. Cleanup is a breeze thanks to the non-stick surface, and the removable drip tray makes it easy to dispose of excess grease and crumbs. Plus, the compact design and easy storage make it perfect for both small and large kitchens. Since incorporating the electric griddle into my cooking arsenal, I've been able to whip up delicious and nutritious meals for my family with ease and efficiency. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned chef, I highly recommend investing in an electric griddle – it's a versatile and convenient appliance that will elevate your cooking game!

SAFE FOR BIRD OWNERS TO USE
Love it! BEST THING IS IT HAS NO TEFLON OR PFOA SO IT’S SAFE TO USE IF THERE’S A PET BIRD ANYWHERE IN THE HOUSE!!!!! Bird owners: it isn’t just the obvious teflon anymore. The PFOA & teflon are being mixed into other things now, so that copper or other coating could be hiding the danger in it too or be covering up the danger if painted over it). Some of the grills I saw even stated pet safe- but when I ck’d they weren’t talking about birds & indeed had PFOA/or teflon in them! The 2 granite stone grills were the only ones I found on Amazon that didn’t.Blue Diamond had the most cooking options w/ it’s interchangeable plates so I can use it for all my grilling as well as waffles & anything I normally cook up in a skillet too- so the majority of my cooking is now done on this little grill since I only cook for one. A small family could use this grill just fine, but larger families might feel it’s a bit small. It’s perfect for just 1 or 2 people. I wanted a small grill since I cook for 1 & don’t want it taking up too much kitchen space. A dream to clean. I set mine on a lg cutting board to catch any drips, protect my counter (maybe that was overkill), & most importantly to me- to be able to slide & move it when it’s hot if needed. It heats up fast & so does the outside so don’t touch it til it cools down.Love the way it folds into a pannini press or opens out flat. I can open it flat, put a different type plate on each side & have 2 different cooking surfaces @ the same time. Love that it doesn’t have holes in the grill plates (open grill design) to let gunk drip/fall thru & coat the heating element! Designed w/ good forethought! To reduce smoke, I put a bit of water in the drain cups if cooking anything w/ grease run off. I don’t cook meats tho, so not much of a problem for me.The only thing missing is a lid. Lids are useful when grilling some things. Hack: I invert either a clay pot (flower pot) or a stainless steel pot for a lid. Works fine as long as I keep oven mitts handy for removing the clay pot. W/ the clay pot, this grill has every feature that a grill can offer, & the clay pot dbls as my grill tool holder for the oven mitts, tongs, & spatula. FYI: keeping the little things the plates were packed in when delivered was a good idea. I put the extra plates in these to store when not on the grill so they stay unscratched.

Easy to use
If you're a truck driver with at least a 1500 watt power inverter you gotta get one of these!!!! No mess now to cook any kinda meat. The plates are really smooth and I wipe mine off with a paper towel, cleans up easy!

Disappointing: built too cheaply.
UPDATE: For the first few uses it seemed somewhat like non-stick, but I assure you, it is NOT NON-STICK!We've tried butter, vegetable oil, Crisco, etc. over the past year in every case food STICKS to the griddle plates...After reading reviews, it is my firm belief most of the favorable reviews are FAKE!PLATES:The removable plates are only coated on 1 side. The non-exposed sides are bare aluminum which I don't recommend putting in dishwashers. Edges on the uncoated side can be a little sharp, so be cautious when handling or hand washing the plates. They should have coated the entire plate...The plates remove easily from the unit with the touch of mechanical buttons located on the right side. (One button for each plate.) Putting the plates back into the unit only took a couple attempts to master.DIAL: The dial does not have an OFF setting. WHY??? It has low, medium, high & sear setting. We like our Ribeye well done, so we set the dial slightly past high. (It takes about 9 and a half to 10 minutes to cook a Ribeye after the unit has fully pre-heated. For comparison, other more powerful griddles we own take 7 and a half minutes.) Another words it isn't particularly powerful.Lights: Each of the lights are dim and only light a half of what they should.Cord: Cord length is obnoxiously short at 33 and a half inches.OVERALL:We bought this during Prime Days for about $28 and though it is NOT nonstick we will likely keep the unit. There aren't many choices for griddles with removable plates for 2 servings, most are for 4-6 servings. With minor improvements to the lights, dial, plates and cord length this could have been an ideal griddle for two.One important thing to note; we didn't notice an excessive amount of grease spatter escaping around the edges of the unit. The Blue Diamond Griddle is a mediocre griddle that will get the job done. Only worth getting if it is on sale at a price point near or under $35.00.
