Smooth Transfers and Real Comfort in the Shower
Smooth Transfers and Real Comfort in the Shower This sliding shower chair has been a game-changer for making bathing safer and easier. The padded swivel seat glides smoothly across the bench, so moving in and out of the tub is far less of a struggle. The 360° swivel function is a nice touch because it reduces awkward twisting, and the pivoting arms give extra support for balance when standing up or sitting down. The padding is comfortable and doesn’t feel slippery when wet, which is important for confidence and safety. I also appreciate the adjustable legs—they let me set the height to fit both the tub and the user comfortably. The frame feels sturdy and well-built, yet it doesn’t take up excessive room in the bathroom. Assembly was straightforward, and everything lined up properly. The chair has a substantial feel to it—no wobbling or cheap plastic parts—and the sliding mechanism operates smoothly. One thing to be aware of is that it does require enough clearance along the side of the tub or shower for the sliding motion, so smaller bathrooms might need some measuring before purchase. Bottom line: A well-designed, high-quality shower chair that truly makes transfers easier and safer. The comfort, smooth glide, and stability set it apart from standard benches, and it’s worth the investment for anyone needing extra bathing support.

Nearly three years and counting
I bacame a paraplegic just over three years ago (broke my back in a fall), and purchased one of these at the time. Retired from over twenty-three years as an RN, I have worked with a lot of equipment. This one has been a stellar performer, unique to my knowledge and irreplaceable for my needs. The superior quality is evident in the look (I love blue) and feel of the materials. My wife, bright, but no mechanical engineer, was able to assemble it easily. Squeezing past the toilet in our 5'X10' bathroom, any other chair would have had me pointed sideways or toward the back wall. With this chair, I make a 90 degree slide onto the seat from my wheelchair. Then, with the siderail in place, I make a 180 degree rotation to face the shower head, then float over into the center of our 60" X 30" shower stall. Facing the front, I can adjust the controls and function fairly independelntly. When finished, I lift myself with my arms and my helper slips a dry towel under my bum so I can slide back into the wheelchair after I towel off. (She dries anythihg I can't reach.) The dry towel slides easily on the transfer board where my skin tends to stick. There is absolutely no lifting required by anyone except me. While showering, I lift myself with my arms so my helper can wash and rinse my caboose, and then there is the dry towel to get me back into the chair and back into bed. That uniquely functional shower chair contributes to the differnce between me living at home or having to be cared for in a facility. I already have a three-year track record with this chair. I did have to replace it recently, but given the strains placed on it when I lift myself with the armrests and the corrosive environment, I feel like I got my money's worth. The forward support for the right armrest fractured. I tried to obtain a replacement part but the response from the company was that the chair was out of warranty and that replacement was indicated. I realized that encouraging patients, aged or not, to begin repairing their own medical devices would likely open them up to all kinds of unpleasant litigation, so the policy seems reasonable and prudent. The chair has functioned faithfully and its functionality has played a role in keeping me at home and happy without necessitating a major remodel. The looks, reliability, and functionality are exceptional. What more can you ask for?

Highly recommend the Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair PHB3300!
Highly recommend the Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair PHB3300! This is an excellent shower bench, worth every penny! Every homecare nurse and physical therapist has asked where to get one, and they’re sharing the information with their co-workers and associates. Easy to assemble, no tools required! Light weight, yet very sturdy, it has many indispensable features that previous shower chairs just did not have: 1. A padded, waterproof seat that rotates in any direction! The seat locks into place every 90 degrees. So it can be used in any bath to face the faucets and drain. 2. By pushing a button that unlocks the chair, the seat slides along the bench rails, then locks into position, in and out if the bathtub. 3. The chair has flip up locking arms for easy transfer from a wheel chair if required. It also has a seat belt. 4. The legs are adjustable at 1/2” increments, for user height (seat max height 23”), and to clear tub top edge to slide over (18”). This also allows the bench to be leveled between the legs inside the tub and the legs outside on the floor. 5. There are rubber feet on the bottom of each leg that are angled, so they can be rotated to adjust to the contours of the tub or the flat floor. We only have one small bathroom, a tub with sliding glass doors, and a sink right next to the tub. We were looking into remodeling our bathroom, planning to have the tub removed and converted into a walk in shower. But that really wasn’t feasible on our budget, and there wasn’t enough time before scheduled hip replacement surgery. The Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair PHB3300 solved all our problems! We paid about $298, about twice what we paid for previous shower chairs that proved useless (because they were too big, too heavy, and uncomfortable to use). We can safely and easily use this shower chair in our tiny bathroom without a major remodel! To set it up, we removed our sliding shower doors, purchased an inexpensive shower curtain tension rod and a clear plastic shower curtain. We made two small cuts up from the bottom of the shower curtain that match the distance between the outside legs, and the height of the bench rails, so the shower curtain bottom can be tucked inside the tub to minimize water on the floor. We also use a bathmat under the outside legs to avoid a dangerous, slippery, wet floor. We slide the chair out of the tub into the locked position. Rotate the seat into the locked position facing out of the bathtub. Transfer from the walker to the seat by reaching back for the chair arms, carefully lowering down into the seat, and attach the seat belt. Then push down the red lever to rotate the seat 90 degrees, lifting one leg over tub edge. Push grey button to begin sliding the chair into tub, lifting the other leg into tub. Once the seat locks into position, you are ready for a safe shower! Simply reverse the process when you’re done. And light enough to easily remove for other bathers. Very happy with our purchase! We expect to get many years of excellence from this Platinum Health Carousel Sliding Shower Chair PHB3300

La escasa movilidad de la persona le impedía incluso entrar en la ducha. Con esta silla todo ha cambiado. Desde luego, la recomiendo.

Overall functionally of this transfer bench is good. We have a small bathroom and I was surprised how well it fit on our tub. It was easy and quick to put together and it arrived in a week. The knobs for sliding and swivelling could be a little bigger. The sliding and swivelling motion was smooth. It’s a little pricey but If you can afford this bench it is a good investment. I would highly recommend this transfer bench.

Nicely made. Another UK buyer mentioned that they received no reply from the company regarding leg extensions. I had a similar experience. Which prompted me to source aluminium tubes locally. 30 outside diameter by 2mm thick for the horizontal; 28 by 1mm for the legs. Perhaps not 330lb capacity but ok for me. 9mm drill.
