Works great on 2021 Rav4. Survived 2000 mile trip without problems.
As a Viner, I normally never review things that I actually buy out of my own pocket. But, I'm reviewing this one because it answers questions I had but could never find the answer to. Ok, the most important one. Will the exhaust from a 2021 Rav4 cause any boxes like cardboard, or plastic box, to get hot or catch on fire? And, the resounding answer is NO! We traveled 1130 miles one way to Canada with a LOT of stuff on the back. We had large plastic storage boxes, and cardboard boxes on top of that. We strapped them all down with bungee cords. And, nothing melted or caught on fire. We would periodically check out the boxes in the back at rest stops, and the boxes all felt cool / cold to the touch. I have a 11" sandal / slide to measure the exhaust to the hitch one on of my pics. And, at that distance, everything was safe. On the drive back a few months later, though, we had just some cardboard boxes. We left all of our plastic storage bins up in Canada. And, one thing to not about this hitch is that in wet roads, whatever is in the back there WILL get wet on the under side. However, if you're driving at speed in the rain. The top will not get, because of the drafting effect. Although, the sides of the boxes may get wet. So, if you can, use plastic boxes instead. All in all, this is a GREAT hitch carrier that extends your carrying space. We brought up so much junk with us to Canada, that we needed this hitch to carry everything with us. It's LIGHT. It's STURDY. It's EASY to put together. And, the best thing is, it's way better for your fuel economy than a roof cargo carrier. Those things absolutely kill your fuel economy by adding lots of drag. This hitch carrier with about 100 lbs loaded didn't do anything to our fuel economy. It was the same as it every was. Absolutely, whole heartedly recommend it.

Nice product
Seems to be a quality product. It sure looks very nice. Only time will tell how well it hold up and if it supports the rated max weight of 500 pounds. It went together very quite easily (lots of little bolts and nuts). All of the parts and bolts etc., were there. Took an hour or so to put together finishing with a small socket set and power drill. It is much lighter than my old steel one. Looking forward to traveling with it. I would recommend it.

Light and sturdy.
Light weight and sturdy. Was not difficult to assemble and does exactly what I wanted it to do. On a Jeep Wrangler JLU, without a drop receiver, it does interfere with the spare tire by an inch or two, so I couldn't open the back tailgate, but that's a Jeep issue, not a Cargo Carrier issue.

Nice for the price, but don't be fooled by the 500 pound claimed capacity.
Nice item. Do yourself a favor and mount all of the supports on the inside with only the screw heads on the outside. It's a much cleaner look and won't snag clothing when you get too close. The side rails are really nice to secure your load, but don't think you'll be ratcheting down a 500 pound load there. They're just for containment and containment only. They're way too flimsy for anything more, not to mention asking too much of the plastic corners which hold the whole thing together. It is a very reliable light duty carrier but under no circumstances can support or secure its claimed 500 lb. capacity. The true useful capacity is more like 100-200 pounds, which is more than what I needed. The extruded aluminum "floor" beams won't hold much that's not otherwise over the center steel support to take most of the load. If you need an unbalanced heavy load, screw in a 3/4" plywood floor or buy an all steel unit. It's a very light item so there's no real penalty for adding a real floor. Otherwise, keep this for camping, coolers, the occasional home depot rental sander or posthole digger, etc. Don't think you'll be moving a 500 pound tool, toy, or appliance. Don't rely on this for anything other than recreational or light use. For that it's great, and I highly recommend it. Finally, the receiver mount is really long which might be ok if you have a heavy duty receiver that doesn't mind the leveraged tongue weight, or need to access a tailgate or rear swinging door or need to clear a spare tire. But my car is a hatchback without a spare. I cut 4.5 inches off and re-drilled the receiver pin holes for a much closer in fit. In all, I'll get years of use out of this item using it with support straps to transfer the weight off of my Class 1 light duty hitch. The price, weight, containment rails, look, and size are perfect for my Chevrolet compact car (2013 Volt) especially using support straps to disburse weight to the car body and shortened receiver connection to cut the leverage down.

Works as it should.
Just what the description said: quality product, aluminum so light weight, works as it should. A very pleasant surprise was that they included an extra 5mm screw and 3 extra 5mm nuts, because if you drop one of those little things they hide exceptionally well. Thanks for saving me a trip to the hardware store!

You better be handy with tools!
So I hope you consumers are handy!? Took an hour to assemble and product also lacked two predrilled holes! No problem because I am handy and drilled two holes for nuts and bolts. Great price and product! I used this for Big game hunting. I have a Chevy Suburban. Ground clearance is good and plenty. I have yet to put a deer on it but I am prepared to. I highly recommend this.

It is well built and what I needed it for...
It took awhile to put together but I like it for my RV trailer. I got HD bumper brackets to handle more load but you have to balance it out and not exceed factory recommendations. It also serves as a stable platform for my propane griddle and BBQ. It's off the ground and can't tip over. It's also close to the quick disconnect connections at the back of my Jayco.

Great hitch. When coaching or camping , it gives you that extra space. I do a lot of fishing trips and that added room for storage is awesome. It is very durable and light weight. You have to tie or bungie stuff to it to hold but its easy. It even fits into the back of SUV if I have to take it off so no one can steal it. Great Product
