The pinnacle of quality
Is this an expensive headphone stand? Yes.Is the quality representative of the price? Yes.Woo Audio are clearly experienced when it comes to making high quality products, and this shines through even in their side line products like this headphone stand. It comes in 6 pieces packed remarkably well, held snug in high density foam. The pieces show incredible attention to detail. The stand is made from aluminum with a fine, bead blasted finish. The base is very heavy and has a foam layer on the bottom to protect your desk. The lower stem of the stand has a soft rubber gasket so that it does not mar the base when you screw them together with the large wing nut. The screw for adjusting and locking the upper telescoping stem has a hard plastic end so that it does not mar the stem. The upper radius of the headphone support matches my headphones well, and provides even support. The stand telescopes from 11" to 14" from top of support to bottom of base. Even the lowest setting is tall enough to comfortably hang most headphones on.Five stars.

Build quality of this caliber is rare these days.
This headphone stand was clearly designed by a perfectionist, for perfectionists. It is heavy and robust--no chance of accidentally moving or tipping over. The black finish is visually and tactilely appealing, and seems as though it will prove very durable. The parts are shipped in packaging designed to protect the product from marring. The parts fit together perfectly, with no asymmetries or unsightly blemishes from the machining process. The base has a felt-like rubber disc that prevents the stand from moving around or damaging the surface on which it sits. The locking bolt that secures the telescoping (adjustable height) portion has a polymer tip--again to prevent any marring of the finish. This stand has pretty much become a piece of functional art on my desk. I only wish that more products were designed and built with this much care and attention to detail these days.

A must have for top end cans
I feel really stupid getting a 20 dollar headphone stand to hold my 1,000 dollar headphones. After the second time they fell on the floor I started looking for something better. To my credit it seems Amazon is trying to hide these. I only got a hint of Its existence when another reviewer wrote about them. I had also checked Google using "best headphone stands" as a search and these did not come up. I'm starting to mistrust google. These are easy to put together, despite the lack of instructions. Four parts and one wingnut. It came in a box I would expect to see in a high end electronic item. Each piece in a hard foam slot. The base is heavy. Not going to knock this over. An internal rod slides for adjustments in height. The top has a wide curve of steel as large as the average head. This has no chance of distorting the headband on your headphones.I thought I only needed a single but got the double as it was a better deal. I'm glad I did as I'll keep my open and closed endgame headphones on it.Really, if you paid more than 100 dollars for your headphones and don't store them in the box, get this stand. I'm not sure if the single is as good but see no reason for it not to be. Nevertheless you should get the double. If you really enjoy music, you will end up with more than one set.Highly recommended.

Exactly What It Looks Like, Got a Mediocre Example
Well built and solid, aesthetically pleasing. Only real kvetch is some sloppy finishing/metalworking; one underside of the top platform in my example has a sharp burl that should have been finished more professionally before painting. This particular corner is sharp and will hurt hands or tear leather on headbands. Have another example at the office that does not have this problem, so not sure if I just got unlucky or if Woo quality control is a little sloppy.

Poor QC
Wing nut that secures the base to the stand will not fit the bolt. I bought a new wing nut hoping that maybe the one supplied was defective. No way, still will not secure the stand to the base. Very disappointed since it's made with high quality materials. 3 starsUpdate: New product sent and it is perfect. Thank you Woo. 5 stars

How tough can it be to make a great headphone stand
How tough can it be to make a great headphone stand? Well, must be tougher thanit seems because Woo have produced a much better stand than many others I haveseen. Heavy base keeps the stand from tipping over, wide support for headband helps tokeep the headband from distorting (I think this is particularly important and a weakness ofmany other stands). Adjustable height very welcome, and nice smallfootprint. Just perfect.
