Could be more detailed. More of a coffee table book of info on Sulcatas. Packs a lot general knowledge for such a small book, would be well suited for children who are interested in learning about sulcatas.

Read this book cover to cover in one sitting, overall very useful, esspecially for someone who is just learning. The only reason for the 4 star is they could have done a little more homework on the ecology of them in their natural environment, the way it is worded makes it seem as if they are all heat all the time, when truthfully they are rarely seen in the summer when they spend most of their time in their holes and mainly come out and are most active during the rainy season

I found this book too elementary and too general. No comprehensive list of dos or don't food-wise at all. Healthwise doesn't even cover impaction in torts and again just basic animal care at best. Seriously if you just like Sulcatas and don't actually own one this might be a good beginner book to read.

I really enjoyed learning about how to properly care for my baby sulacata (Mr. Tortoise as he is known in my home). All of the information inside this book was very useful to me and helped me care for Mr tortoise in all the right places. However i do wish the book was better formatted - This 5 star review is for the content of the book i'd give the formatting a 4 star, but im sure its just a personal issue. There are too many hyphens with the same content within this book for my taste. Thank you Ben Team for writting this book,my sulcata is 9 month old and loving live, currently in the process of building him/her a table.

This is one of the better books I’ve found on management and care of a tortoise. I’ve bought several that give more information on turtles(water) not a tortoise (land)

Prior to buying this book I thought I had the perfect habitat for a Sulcata, boy was I caught off guard. I think every potential tortoise owner should read this and be aware of the fact that tortoises have special needs every stage of their lives. It was very comprehensive, and for a novel enthusiast, a wealth of entry-intermediate level knowledge [and a few advanced, like giving your pet injections...]. Overall I enjoyed it, it could use more pictures, its a cute species :)

Have had sulcata hatchlings since end of April. I’ve done a lot of research on-line & info from breeder. I like the book & have learned things I didn’t know. Would definitely recommend.

Very useful book however the language is very american and advice in some chapters contradict others. If you have common sense this book is brilliant.

This book has good information about the sulcata tortoise. The quality of the book pages seem cheap for the price. But the quality of information was good.

A good insightful read for anyone looking to get these as a pet, or for anyone who has them already and would like to know a little more about them.

I own a tortoise and just have a general interest in all tortoise species. Although I don’t plan to ever own a Salcata, I enjoyed reading and learning more about them. There’s is a lot of great information in this book and it is a nice addition to my tortoise book collection.
