I just installed this in my truck last weekend and i have to say it is better than i expected from a dash cam. Great quality and aesthetics from this camera, it is very small and compact which is also nice.I hardwired this camera into my fuse box so it starts when i turn the key and turns off when i turn the vehicle off. The cable for this camera is long and will definitely be long enough to reach your fuse box.. i bought an adapter for this so i did not have to split or do any fancy wire work at all. The mount that sticks to the window via suction cup is very strong!

The unit is very small (this is a good thing) and light and seems to be well constructed. The video quality is great and there are quite a few options for different recording resolutions. The menu system is pretty simple to move around in. The manual is an obvious convert from another language to English so tough to read in spots, but nothing earth shattering.Seller contacted me about the battery life and with the information provided, I can understand why the battery drains so fast, but is to be expected.I did have to spend another $30 for a DVD drive because the file on their website is corrupt and cannot be extracted. This is the first time in a long time I've needed a DVD drive, but it's nice to have in case I need it in the future. Got it today and the program works right off the CD.

The camera is great overall and has pretty much all the features that I look for in a dash camera.It acomplishes that by having a broad (wide) Field of View, 170 degrees, and then Sensor Resolution to pick up those fine details within the view, 2560x1080.I tested in as many conditions as I could and found the sensor was excellent, with no real drawbacks to using it on any of sunny, rainy, cloudy conditions and at any time of the day. The camera reacted well from going to light to dark and wasn't unduely affected by direct sunlight . Road signs and markings were clearly visible, as were traffic lights. Furthermore, the microphone picked up my voice well above road noise. Evening and night time driving were both recorded accurately as well, the camera coped with the changing light conditions and streetlights/backlight signage.One button is marked as an event button. Pressing this (or if the camera's G-Sensor detects sudden movement) will save the 10 seconds before you press the button and 20 seconds after it in a separate file. Essentially if you see an incident, tap the button to save everything. Of course, even at the highest settings and using the 32gb SD card included, you'd have over three hours before the normal recording was overwritten anyway.The mount, this is a clever one. In addition to being a locking suction cup, it's also got a miniUSB port built into it for power. You can use this for nice clean mounting and a classy looking cable. Once you've connected it up (there is a 12/24v Car Power adaptor included, but you can use a separate 4 port USB charger as I did), it will stay in place nicely. I put mine behind my mirror so I don't notice it while driving. Once it was mounted the camera did not wobble and stayed put.

Received in original packaging. The instructions are not very well written. Took some time to set up which was limited by short battery charge. When plug into my laptop for power, the screen just shows USB connected and does not allow for adjusting setting. Had to removed from USB to make set up changes but battery charge does not last long enough. Did not have time to use car charger to make changes to setup. Initial test video appears backwards when viewed with the software provided which makes no sense to me. I was able to use other media players with no problem. When using the provided software, the GPS keeps giving me pop up script errors which is annoying. Test video was ok but due to wide angle there is some distortion. I turned off audio and did not test that. I plan to use this on vacation to record scenic drives so I did not test the functions for detecting vehicle damage etc

I haven't had the opportunity to use the recorder yet. From the looks and feel, it seems to be a quality piece of equipment. The 3 star rating is because of the manual that comes with the recorder. Unless you have the eyes of an eagle, it is piratically impossible to read. The print is about the same as the fine print on a contract that doesn't want you to know what your are getting.It isn't just fine print, it is microscopic print. I cut the pages apart and enlarged them on a copier to make them readable. It can be figured out but it appears to have been translated from Chinese or wherever it was printed by a high school English language student. Give the student credit though: they can read English and I can't read whatever their language is so this isn't knocking them. The company should hire a professional translator.****UPDATE**** There isn't any technical support. The camera recorded everything just fine. The recording is very clear, on playback, there is a speedometer that gives your speed at all times along with a map that tracks your location. This is great. Why then do I need tch support? The recording is upside down. The speedometer and map are correct so it isn't that I had the camera mounted upside down. In fact, it wouldn't stay mounted if the weight of the camera was at the top. Where to call? where to send it for warranty repair? There isn't a company, address, or phone number, or warranty information anywhere to be found. But it has a 2 year warranty. Heck, why didn't they give it a 100 year warranty. What would be the difference? I lowered it to 2 stars.

Over all not a good product, runs out of battery faster than my 2015 Ford can charge it. Runs out of memory too quickly, features are VERY confusing & needs to constantly be updated with a new memory card.Bad product, waste of $. Sure wish i could return this item.
