Yes, It Fits DeWALT D28402, BUT...(See Details Below)!
...there are two sets of holes (4 holes total) on the outer flange nut. If you look closely, you will notice that two of the holes are round, and the other two holes have a slight "hex hole" appearance to them. This tool fits perfectly into the round holes, but the spacing between the prongs is off if you try in the "hex holes". Again, you have to look closely to notice the "hex holes". If the reason you are ordering this tool is to convert your D28402 from a grinding to a metal cutting tool, then the manual recommends you change out the type 27 guard that comes with the tool to a type 1 guard. I ordered the "Dewalt 64377200 Guard" and it fit perfectly. It is made of much thicker metal, and has protection on both the top and the bottom. The cutting wheel that I got was the 5 pack DW8061B5 4" discs. The manual says you need a backing flange as well, which mine already came with one, so yours likely already has one too! Be safe, and wear eye protection! Oh, and one more thing, the product information says the color is "Steel" and the "Material Type" is plastic, but it is made of metal, not plastic, just to put that concern to rest!

size and spacing of the wrench prongs
How come the size and spacing of the prongs is not part of the product details!?That's why I deducted 1 star. Plus it irks me that it doesn't fit my grinder.Here are the details. Might as well get SOME good out of this wrench...As other reviewers have noted, the 2 different sizes are for the PIN diameters, notfor the distance between the pins which is exactly the same on both sides.Center to Center on the pins on both sides of the wrench is exactly 1 3/8" apart.NOT 1.25" as was stated in some of the reviews (I needed 1.25"!). If you need 1.25",this wrench will NOT fit.Pin diameters are different from one side of the wrench to the other:Thicker Pins Diameter: 7/32"Thinner Pins Diameter: 11/64" (thinner pins fit my grinder holes).

Nice Little Wrench
I didn't like the one came with my grinder. Luckily this one fits perfectly. Actually there's a smaller wrench on the other side. This one is a double use tool. In operation, it helps with precise torque to twist the flange nut. I used the grinder/cutter to make a opening on my RAV4 rear bumper to install a OEM tow hitch. So I had great experience. 2 out of 2 success. Thanks to the help from the DeWalt grinder!
