Don't buy it.
Very Disappointing. It has 176 pages but doesn't have a page for every park. They highlight a park or two from each region to give a multiple page spread to and the rest are crammed 6 to a page and get a few bulletpoints and no pictures. Bought this for our kids ahead of a cross country try trip with 8 parks along the way and only two of them have any explanation. The other six are relegated to the back with 6-8 bulletpoint descriptions. I know it's a kids book and didn't expect depth by any means, but they don't even give each park a picture. We are doing most of the grand circle and the only park that has pictures or a multiple page description is the one we aren't going to....

Not what I was expecting
I thought this book would include a little blurb about all of the national parks sites arranged by location. I was dissapointed. The book is small and leaves out a lot of parks. We hope to visit every national park and this was not as helpful as I hoped. I would not recommend it to a friend

Very informative and fun to look through
Huge hit with my 4th grader who is very into National Parks and Junior Ranger Badges this year after we visited Arches and Canyonlands in Utah. Next up we will be going to Yellowstone and Grand Teton thanks to his enthusiasm over this book. Very informative and fun to look through.

Good Reference Book for Kids
I like this book as a resource for my children to look at before they travel. It is written for kids and has a lot of interesting information. I would recommend supplementing this again with the Jr. Ranger programs that the National Parks Provide for free. Most can be downloaded in advance or you can write or call the park to receive a copy in the mail.

National Parks Vacation aid
Bought this along with the Junior Ranger Activity Book as preparation for a family vacation to some of the National Parks in the Southwest US. We are finding interesting information to enhance our trip. Lots of pictures and fun facts - this may become a repeat trip to other National Parks!

They liked it and are looking forward to using it in ...
This was a gift to a family that likes to travel and camp! They liked it and are looking forward to using it in their travels. It doesn't really help you plan trips or anything but gives you lots of fun facts and info about the National Parks.

The book has great pictures and my 10 year old son likes it
The book has great pictures and my 10 year old son likes it. However, I was disappointed that the guide was not comprehensive and highlights some parks in detail and has small (barely) mentions of others. I will likely buy the adult version which includes more information.

A bit expensive but worth it
Very informative book. We purchased prior to a couple of road trips to South Dakota and then Tennessee.
