If you love chocolate...
Delicious! I don't think this will replace my morning coffee...well maybe one day. It will definitely be my go to for something warm on a chilly/cold day. Can't wait to enjoy it around a campfire! It smells and tastes wonderful. Great job Crio Bru. Love it!

I love this
I love Crio Bru Cacao. It has helped me quit drinking coffee, and feel much better since I have. Love the tast.

Great coffee substitute. Eager to try more blends.
This is a fantastic coffee substitute. I am eager to try the different blends available. This particular roast has some hints of sour cherry and a slight mineral taste, although the overall flavor is spectacular. This can be mixed with standard ground coffee beans to make a half-caf blend or mixed with decaf coffee for an all day beverage. I have found it makes a great iced drink. The flavor isn’t bitter, but there’s a darkness and richness that is similar to a good coffee.

Flavorful healthy drink alternative to coffee!
I have not subscribed to anything as of yet to receive regular shipments, but this product may change all of that. I began to learn a bit about the health benefits of the ground cacao seeds, which I will leave that up to your own research, but this blend / product is excellent. I love the taste of coffee, but as an athlete still competing in racquet sports I did not like the jittery feeling of the caffeine within my system. In addition the caffeine increased my sweat during play requiring me to wear a headband to keep it out of my eyes. (each person's experience may be different). To have an alternative that taste awesome and actually has health benefits...I am sold!! I have not tried all the flavors, but I am looking into them.

Very nice flavor & consistency
This review is for the Ghana Light Roast. I had previously ordered the Ecuadoran brew & found the aftertaste too sweet. This was much nicer with a smoother (less sweet) aftertaste. I found this worked fine as a coffee substitute though I prefer the flavor better when I mix them 50/50. I don't use sugar or any sweeteners in my coffee nor do I drink my coffee strong - if cocoa/cacao didn't have such a naturally sweet aftertaste I would have no issue switching to this as a coffee substitute, flavor-wise. For those who like a strong brew I think this would be a tougher switch though because you need so much of this in order for it not to be weak. Using the amount directed resulted in a consistency somewhere between that of coffee / tea. Additionally, for the amount you need to use per cup, this is incredibly expensive! Not sure if I will continue using or not.

Health cocoa. Add sugar and cream. Let steep at least 10 minutes.. or more. You will get
a very rich and nutritious cup of cocoa. I use a steel pan and boil water in it. When it boils I toss in a good handful of the cacao then turn off the heat. Then I add 2 or 3 tspns of white sugar and a healthy dollop of half and half. Then I let it sit and go back to work on my computer. Some time later, the scent of chocolate is permeating the house and I go back in the kitchen turn on the stove again and reheat the cocoa. After it comes to a boil I take it off and then put a steel mesh strainer over my big coffee mug and pour the mixture in. The strainer separates the raw cacao from the drink which is left hot and creamy in your cup. Delicious. I like the Ghana light roast. I also have the Nicaragua which has a stronger flavor. Sometimes I mix them if I want stronger. Although I always drink coffee black I don't recommend drinking this cacao like that. I drink coffee in the day and cacao with cream and sugar at night.

Disgusting taste
It's probably just me, an individual reaction to this, but although I followed the directions, the drink almost made me sick, it was such a disgusting taste. I've never reacted to anything this way before! Like I said, it's probably just me--I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the product. Just mentioning it in case anyone else has a reaction to it. Later I read that theobromine can cause nausea! So maybe that was what made me feel so sick. But the taste of this stuff was also nauseating... there goes $20 into my composter!

Really good got chocolate.
Made some hot chocolate using a French press, cocoa, and hot water. Then added some sugar and milk. Very tasty. My wife also enjoys adding it to her coffee maker. I'll have to make some using our regular and dutch process cocoa powder to see which tastes best to me, but I do find that this process is so much easier than using cocoa powder. And pretty darn good, at least to me.

Tastes like a dark chocolate hot chocolate without sugar so you are able to adjust the sweetness to your liking. Loving it hot or cold.making it in a French press and working wonderfully. Will be ordering again!

I have seen many ads for this product, so when Amazon threw it to me as a checkout suggestion I decided to try it. The smell is just heavenly, as you'd expect. We used a French Press and while the flavour itself is excellent, like very dark chocolate, the mouthfeel just isn't the same as coffee. It doesn't feel as rich and bold. Of course that's fair: it *isn't* coffee. What I plan to do with the rest of it is combine it with a dark roast coffee for a bit more body. I would recommend this product as a coffee adjunct or for people who are unable to have coffee. If you just want a chocolatey drink you might be better off with a regular hot chocolate.

Smells great, but tastes like hot brown water. Chocalate and coffee are my weaknesses. This though, has extremely weak flavour, even after steeping for 15 minutes and stirring twice in a French press. I want to like it, but it could never replace an espresso drink. I'll keep trying different ways to prepare it, but I'm not overly hopeful.
