Deep State (Jason Trapp)

Thoroughly entertaining, from start to finish!
My husband discovered Jack’s books on Amazon, and knowing my love for thrillers like this (especially those involving military action), thought I’d enjoy it. Nailed it! Jack’s masterful character development and top-shelf talent for sucking you into his story have made me an ardent, life-long fan from book 1!

Great book! First Jack Slater book I've read and I'm glad I found this author. Lots of action and suspense. Loved it!

The book kept my attention and I had a hard time putting it down.
For his first book Jack Slater wrote a believable thriller and I can only imagine his writing will continue attract readers. I especially enjoyed his note at the end of the book; I appreciate the effort he put forth to make this book a success. I’m an avid reader and I’m looking forward to reading many more of Jason Trapp’s adventures.

Pay attention-it's happening.
A huge fan of Brad Thor, David Balducci, and Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills, I'm recovering from hip replacement and as such, blowing through books and was looking for a new author to follow.I found him. While not as over the top as Gray Man, in regard to gratuitous violence via the one man wrecking crew, Jason Trapp is relatable in a way that puts you in the action. He is scarred and broken, like most men who put on a uniform, strap on weapons, and head into battle. Be it military or police. His internal angst is what sold me on the book series. While "Birdseye" is not real (wink) it scares the hell out of you to know there is something like it out there monitoring us.The government will topple from within and Trapp is right in the middle of hell at home with this book. I have the second book ready to go and look forward to more adventures. Hopefully, Dani and he can figure out a way to find the other as they are both a hot mess but deep blue heroic in a way that makes them very relatable. .

Good Guys win again
I'm a big fan of Reacher, Dewey Andreas, Scot Horvath, and the like and Jason Trapp lands squarely in the pack. I read this first installment and immediately bought the next two. Not disappointed at all, as action moves swiftly, not alot of redundancy, and likeable side characters.

Hooked me from the start!
An easy read and very entertaining. I had a hard time setting it down. It's so good that I bought the next two books in the series.

ACTION PACKED
WoW, I haven't read a book this fast since Jack Carr's James Reese series. I have already ordered the 2nd one and looking forward to reading that. Jason Trapp is a hit.

Not everybody chews their lip.
The story was half way decent, but. It is annoying that almost everybody in the story in the story “chewed their lip” when thinking, contemplating, being concerned, or any other reason the author could come up with. Again, this became very annoying.

Ghost operative versus cyber weasel
What if America's intelligence apparatus was hijacked and used against them? It would be a disaster. And if a megalomaniac used this all powerful tool to forward their own agenda? Someone who did not value life or love America. But fortunately, there are a rare few that can stand against such a sinister plot. Dani, the FBI agent is unofficially recruited by anti-terrorist agent Jason Trapp, literally a ghost operative with an ax to grind. NSA computer scientist, Dr. Greaves, offers his unique services after his friend is murdered by mercenary forces. The idea of this NSA uber coder is somewhat reminiscent of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo #4.This is my first Jack Slater novel, but it won't be my last. If you like Vince Flynn, Mark Greaney or Brad Thor, give Jack Slater a try. Although there are references to Yemen, most of the story is set in the United States.Four and-a-half stars.
