Superb Quality PMR446 Radios
I do not work for Retevis but I own many Retevis Handheld, Mobile Radios both analogue and digital. In all cases, the build quality has always been Excellent. The Retevis customer support is second to none in my honest opinion. These tiny radios are great for camping, hiking, sports and other outdoor/indoor activities. These were bought for activities such as fishing, Camping and shopping also to keep in touch with my disabled mum in our large house. The battery save standby is really good and I have left mine on for a couple of days and was still able to use these radios for quite a while off the remaining charge. These are great tiny radios license-free for the UK market. The menu is simple and easy to use however there are some caveats which are the limitation of certain programmable settings on these radios. The squelch setting the default not visible is 4 and can only be changed with a programming cable and software downloaded and installed on your computer. The two side buttons can not be customised except by the same method along with the voice announcements. These radios can be very loud even when turned down low and without a headset might make this an issue if hunting. The single 3.5 mm jack is designed for a product-specific Headset with a Microphone and PTT if you plug an earpiece or headphones into this socket the radio will enter transmit permanently until you unplug these. Radiohams out there might be interested to know that these radios can be easily reprogrammed with up to 99 channels available with a configurable output from 0.5 watts up to a maximum of 2 watts. These are simplex radios so not useable with repeaters. What I like about these radios is the tiny size the build quality the simplicity, vibration alert and the ability to access the privacy codes from the radio to screen out reception of unwanted signals. The clone feature only clones the set channel to other RB615 radios set up to receive so it's a one channel at a time operation. The information transferred is just the privacy codes CTCSS or DCS radio base settings remain unchanged. If you wish to truly clone a radio and multiples thereof you need programming cable software and a computer. I highly recommend these radios for short-range local communications for outdoors countryside you expect longer distance than in built-up areas. High up on a hill with no obstructions I've managed 7 to 8 miles. I hope this helps?

Avoid these if you have ears
These are so frustrating! I really wanted to like these HTs but they're just awful! The voice prompts can't be turned off and they're SOOO LOUD! I even went so far is to opening this up and soldering a resistor in line with the speaker to quiet down the prompts. Once that problem was fixed I found the other issue which makes this a deal breaker for me, and that is the mic. It almost doesn't pick anything up at all. The audio transmission from this is SOOO QUIET! I couldn't hear anything when I did a transmission test unless the other set was at full volume.I loved the size and the looks. The build quality feels good and it feels great in the hand but unfortunately I just can't recommend this at all for the reasons above.

Unless you are prepared to use the programm software I would avoid these radios.
The Retevis RB615 walkie talkies are quite good but....... when you switch them on, off or do commands they shout at you settings at max volume. Before you use them you really need to beable to use the programing software to turn this off as it can't be turned off within the radio's menu. The programing software from Retevis is OK but do not use their driver, the Retevis driver, as it doesn't work and may contain a virus. A Google search for "Retevis RB615 programing" will take you to a Reddit Web page that links through to a CH340 driver that I used and works. These radios are shirt top pocket small in size but seem a little low on power. They don't have the punch of say A Motorola PMR radio but are great for local comms. Another thing to watch is that the CTCSS codes do not match say the Motorola codes. CTCSS 2 is a usualy unused code by other manufacturers, such that after code 1, CTCSS 3 then matches CTCSS 2 on Motorola radios and 4 matches 3 etc, one step out. Again good, very small and usable once you can get the programing working and silence its voice. We used them on a boating holiday between the crew and they performed really well.

Tiny radio, no programming cables available in the UK
This is a tiny radio, seemingly good quality. The audio is very loud and you really need to program the options available via the free software available form Retavis, most of which you can't do on the radio itself. For me, that was the problem. This doesn't come with the specific c9118a programming cable needed, just the charger cable. The seller was responsive and told me a cable is included in the twin pack (meaning I'd have to buy two more radios) or Retevis could sell me one and ship from China in 25 *working* days. For this reason, I can't recommend it and I am sending mine back.

great little PMR446 radio
we got three of these, great little radios, well built, easy to charge with the USB cable, good battery life, preset with the PMR446 channels and CTSS tones. nice and loud. menu was a bit confusing at first, but a quick read of the instruction booklet cleared that all up.

Good value little Radio
Good quality little radio that is easy to use. Only one issue and that is the the volume is very loud even when turned down to its lowest setting. This does not cause too much of an issue just something to be aware of.

Ottimo PMR tascabile
