really good value, good light
I don't often write positive reviews, but I was impressed by this light. First it's a great value. The headband, which btw NutNFancy swears by, costs $30 if you purchase it separately, plus they throw in four 123 batteries, and let's not forget the 2-year warranty. Secondly, the unit is intelligently designed. Both the brightness and the angle of the light are fully adjustable, and the entire unit is sturdy and well made. The usb port is a handy extra for emergency cell phone charging. Finally, the 900 lumen burst is a very welcome safety feature.Cons include the weight and bulk, but if you want the battery power you get the weight and bulk. At least you don't have to carry the batteries on your head. Also, I'm not convinced the usb charger is going to be all that useful since it kept shutting off while charging my cell phone, but I may update my review later about that.I intend to use this hiking. If you've ever been caught out late, when the darkness turns black under the forest canopy and you're headed down a steep rocky trail, and the light from your flashlight seems to get swallowed up in the night, then this may be the light for you.

Super bright
Brightest headlight ever. I impressed so many people with this thing. With multiple settings you can have the right amount of light when you need it 4 stars because the battery pack gets annoying after novelty wears off

First impressions...
Only had this one day so, long-term, my opinion may change.Princeton tec....watch out. This Fenix headlight is everything I've wanted (and told Princeton tec directly). Right batteries, disconnectable power supply, usb power out is an unexpected surprise.Much brighter on the medium setting than the Princeton tec extreme (using 8 2500mah rechargeable enloops) is on high with longer battery life (expected with two 18650 batteries)Comfortable to wear - lite weight. The cord is a little stiff and am concerned that when exposed to very cold temps, it may become brittle. The cord might be the weak spot. Would like to have a coiled section near the head strap.Hope they make the battery packs available individually. Be nice to carry spare battery packs ready to plug in rather than fiddling with individual batteries in the field.Oh, and it's less expensive than the Princeton tec extreme.

Great product, worth the money!
This is a great product. We just tested it out on our camping trip. The reason I gave this a 4 star is because the low setting is still too bright for camp. There is no red mode which I am kind of bummed about. My cheap headlamp you could adjust the light and had red mode for around camp. BUT, the blast on this is ridiculously bright! I love it! Went to night hike and this blew the other head lamps out of the water! So, it's a great product! Plus you can charge a phone or anything that would take a USB from the battery pack it's self!

Great Light - Bright and easy to use.
The product is just as advertised. The light is bright and the controls are easy to use. I like the battery level indicator on the battery pack, but I'm not convinced about the belt holster for the battery pack. I realize there are pros and cons to any placement but for my purposes, I would have liked a head band mount.

Forehead Mounted Sun
Rugged, bright as hell, and cheaper than the competition. It can't be beat. Eats batteries on high, and the batteries are not cheap or sold in convenience stores. It's well worth it though.

Great and Bright
Great headlamp, never had better. Wish battery life was better but what do you expect when you are lighting up the neighborhood...
