About the Startup Describe your product in 3 words. Effective. Comfortable. Discreet. How did you come up with the idea for this product? Tom: It was a group effort. A bunch of engineers with extensive experience in medical devices took a look at big problems in female health and were amazed to see that the predominant solutions for bladder leaks were not only decades old, they weren't even really solutions: catch the pee and hold it in your undergarments. They knew there had to be a better way, and applied their knowledge from other medical technologies to this need.Toni: I trained in ob-gyn at Stanford, then completed a fellowship at UC Irvine in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery. Seeing the early prototypes of Finess, I intuitively understood the elegance of the solution. That is why I became Principal Investigator in the multi-center clinical trial of Finess.
