Should you use it
This is how a professional with decades of experience looks at whether a camera lens should be cleaned or not. Simple answer, you’re not going to get sharp pictures unless your lens is clean so of course camera lenses should be cleaned. However take from a pro, I would never expose my camera lens directly to the elements. Lenses for professional cameras can cost as much as ten thousand bucks and unless you keep your camera in a vault and never use it the lens is naturally going to get dust and fingerprints and water splashes from rain or sprinklers or whatever on it. Pros I know buy a clear lens filter at the same time they buy a new lens. Not a UV (ultraviolet) filter, but one made of clear optical glass. Such a filter can be costly but it’s there to be the shield to keep your lens clean. I won’t go into why I don’t use a UV filter in this discussion but I don’t. But I will say that the idea of protecting my lens against physical damage is down on my list of reasons I buy a clear glass filter. Reason number one is that when dust and sand and water drops and other debris accumulate on the glass I can clean it off with a lens tissue like this.DO I CLEAN THE LENSI have used lens tissues most of my life and these are some of the best I have found. But even using the best I hesitate to use anything to physically clean my lenses because they are all coated with many layers that are critical to the performance of my lenses and over time they can develop tiny scratches, even using the finest cloths or lens tissue. By using a clear glass filter, that’s what gets cleaned, not the lens itself. So no, I try not to use anything at all to directly clean the lens itself.HOW TO USEThese do not need to be moistened. Use moistened tissues on your eyeglasses, not on your camera lens. These should be used dry with only the lightest touch necessary to clean the glass. Fog it gently with your breath if necessary, as in cleaning water spots which can sometimes be stubborn. Never press hard, and always clean in a circular motion.THESE ARE NOT BOUNDI have used lens tissue that is bound in little booklets and I prefer not to. There are several reasons. One is that when the tissue is torn out of the booklet it creates a lot of tiny dust particles, the opposite of what I need to clean the dust off my camera lens. More importantly I don’t want to take an entire booklet with me on a photo shoot. It will gather the same dust and moisture and other irritants as everything else. It’s never necessary to take more than a few sheets with me and I use glassine packets which are commonly used for valuable collectable stamps and coins and jewelry. I take just enough with me for a days work. The envelopes are completely neutral, waterproof and dustproof and take us zero space in my lens bag. I like that this company puts 50 loose sheets into each packet for easy access.YES NO MAYBEThese are made in Korea. I’m not familiar with the company but from my research they appear to be well respected for their optical care products. The tissues themselves are of the highest quality and are very reasonably priced. I’m very happy with them and intend to use them from now on.

Good loose leaf tissues
The tissues are decent quality, and the price is right. I gave it four stars because by “booklet” I was expecting the tear out type, not just a stack of loose leaf tissues. I bought these to use on the go, and need something that’s not just going to blow away out in the field. Overall good.

Leaves lint on lens
I ordered this for a lens cleanup project, but these are really bad. They leave linglt. I had to disassemble the lens setup again since there was lint left inside it. Made me put twice the effort
