great piece of armor for the ol DR650. lighter than the metal variants but just as sturdy.one thing to note is that the instructions have the bolts going in the wrong places. just swap them around and it's perfect.installation was awkward but doable. start with the back bolts first.changes the sound of your bike.. or at least how you'll hear it. the skid plate reflects the exhaust back towards your ears somehow. sounds like my bike is always in a tunnel now. not necessarily a negative, just unexpected.

Fits perfect. Looks great. Provides pretty good engine protection. Helps reduce engine noise from vibration.

I chose this skid plate because metal ones deflect engine noise to your direction, this plastic protector is very sturdy and will protect your engine just as effective.Very easy to install and looks awesome on the bike, the price is excellent, good value for the money like most Acerbis products. I have the 20L tank, the handguards and the frame protector, all from Acerbis, zero complaints.

Product seems pretty good but I don't know why companies have a hard time with instructions. You cannot install as is on a DR 650. You have to use the short screws with no washers on the two bottom screws as the washers are too big. Seems to be a known issue Acerbis is not interested in fixing.

So I opened the box and I was rather surprised to see such a thick piece of plastic skid plate. Everyone says to get this one and not the metal or alum ones and now I see why. Its very sturdy and fits like a glove. I did add blue locktite to the 4 bolts though for some added confidence. It looks so good, I may have to see it they have one available for my T7 !

Light. Easy to install. Looks great. Does the job.

Very stout and durable. Not too hard to install, a little tricky to get front brackets and bolts together but still only took a few minutes. It gives good coverage to bottom of engine, frame and case sides. I did actually have to carefully use a utility knife to notch out for my stock shifter which was originally rubbing against the edge of the skid plate and hanging up a bit. The easiest way to do this is to heat up the edge of utility blade and then the plastic cuts pretty easily. They’ve been making the skid plate for a long time, they have to know about this issue so I think they should probably do that for you or just their mold a little bit do you have a little bit of room for the shifter. That being said I still love the skid plate and I’m glad that I bought it. I’ve had an Acerbis skid plate before and found it to be very durable.

Very nice product. Fit perfectly with no shifter clearance issues on '20 DR650
