Great product
I kayak fish and have to anchor a lot because of the wind. I put this setup on the back of my kayak with a modified mushroom anchor. It sits up high enough so the anchor isn't touching the water. I've got 50 feet of rope with a stainless steel clip. I just raise the rope and let it slide until the anchor hits the bottom. Easy peasy. I've got another Scotty on the front. Always need 2 anchorsScotty makes good affordable products.

This is great, as is the rest of the Scotty system.
I started out by purchasing one Anchor Lock with a flush mount and two Rod Holders with side mounts. I've loved them all. The Anchor Lock works great, with smooth and efficient operation put together in a VERY sturdy platform. Using 3/8" solid braid, deploying and retrieving my bow anchor is a breeze with one hand. On top of that, I could potentially move the Anchor Lock to any of the Side Mounts or any of the Rod Holders to bow Flush Mount position of the Anchor Lock. And did I say they're sturdy? I don't think you could destroy these if you tried. That being said, you'll want to take them off and stow them when covering your boat. But no worries, because though you could most likely drag your boat down an asphalt road by them when they're secured (I won't be testing my hypothesis), removal and adjustment are a piece of cake. 1.5 seconds. Tops. Literally. If you happen to choose to leave them on, don't worry, these will be around loooong after you're gone because they are essentially corrosion-proof.I'm currently writing this review because I'm just about to purchase another Anchor Lock with Flush Mount, and two more Rod Holders with Side Mounts! This will total 4 of the best Rod Holders and 2 of the best Anchor Locks money can buy on my skiff and I couldn't be happier. Purchase with the utmost confidence.

Great, simple design
Very happy with my Scottie anchor system. Simple and strong without having to drill and run all kinds of lines all over the kayak

Very easy to use.
Works really well for kayak. Easy to pull and drop anchor. Versatile. Should make a mount specifically for the trak systems so you don't have to buy the extra adapters.

It works great and holds the anchor line tight
The media could not be loaded. This thing is a beast.. works great just as you’d expect Scotty products to perform. I have nothing bad to say, if you want a good and easy way to anchor your yak, this is it

Awesome
Works better than expected. It has teeth that grips it so when you pull backwards, it comes up when you let go of the rope. It stops right in place.

Works perfectly.
The item functions like a dream, a good dream. You lift the rope in the back up it unlocks and you can let out or pull in line. The picture is a little decieving I believe though. The mechinism isn't a simple hammer that falls backwards onto the rope. The hammer actually has a hole in it through which the rope passes over down and out the back. Back to front is the direction for which the hammer falls and is shapped from front to back like a backward L. There are opposing teeth on the bottom of the hammer about 3/4 to an inch (surface area) wide and teeth on the bottom of the housing opposing in the opposide direction of the same width. The teeth are are about 1 1/2 mm appart maybe a little less but they grip something fierce. The mechinism and the base are seporate pieces. The top piece can be put into the base at any degree of rotation and is locked in place, in other words the top must be removed, rotated, and placed back in it does not rotate freely. Mine came with no hardware for attachment and takes 4 screws. The screw head can be of varying size. All in all I am very pleased with the product. This was custom mounted onto a creek company sport lt pontoon boat 8' one man inflatable. The mounting went very well and looks very nice. If you would like to know how I did't it or want a picture reply or shoot me a message.
