Rustic Step Stool - Charcoal

TOP NOTCH QUALITY: My grandfather was a carpenter by trade. He was a "measure twice, cut once" guy. He did everything by hand and never cut corners. As soon as I opened the packaging (even tied with a little piece of raw string...such detail!!) on this little step stool...I knew: This was a piece that my even my grandfather would have been very proud of. I was instantly impressed with the detailing. There were no rough edges...so little kids can't get scratched or hurt. That shows that the craftsmen who made this took the time to really sand down the hardwood before they sent it out of the shop. Cheap mass-produce factories don't bother doing that. The "distressed look" is so authentic and really just "makes" this little step stool. But what really got me was how SOLID this thing is. It is not a lightweight! This thing is going to LAST and LAST and LAST for the ages. Like I said...if I didn't know better...this could have come straight out of my Grandpa's workshop. And if you only knew how particular he was, how precise he was....you'd understand what a complement it is for me to say that about this amazing little step stool. If I could give it TEN STARS, I would!!

This is a solid, sturdy, squat little step stool that is perfect for giving me the little boost I need to get into and out of my very high bed. I was worried that the stool might be too narrow, increasing my chances of missing the stool when getting out of bed, but it is just fine. It's smooth but not slick, making it perfectly pleasant for bare feet. The color is a little darker than I expected, but so what? It's something I have to have visible at all times, and even if it's a little darker than I expected it's infinitely more attractive and durable than a plastic step stool. Another reviewer mentioned that it's something she could have imagined coming out of her grandfather's workshop. I agree. It's sturdy, functional, and classically vintage in character. A lovely little stool.

I was concerned that it would be a little flimsy and not sturdy. But, I am glad I took the risk because it is made of real solid pieces of wood. The only reason I give this 4 stars is that it's much much darker in person and almost looks like it was scorched instead of stained. Also, the stain or whatever was on it for color left stains on my area run in the kitchen. No big deal to me I just put the stool to the side until I need it. I will not leave it sitting on a rug for a long period of time.Great product otherwise.

This is a nice sturdy little step, but it is smaller than expected. We measured it and find the product description is incorrect about the size, it’s 13” not 14” wide. Small difference, but knowing that I would have ordered the next size up.But I like it anyway, so I’m keeping it for my kitchen, and also ordering another - the largest one this time - for the original purpose I’d wanted this for. Excellent quality and I like the rustic weathered wood finish.Minus one star for bad product description, but plus star one for the cute “directions” and friendly recipe, :) so five stars is deserved.

I am a little confused by the product I received. The stool that I ordered had a round hole and a top with overlapping edges so I was a little surprised by the stool I received. With that in mind let me start with the things that I do like. I do like that the base is wide enough to help prevent tipping. It is a stable product but if I was just going for stability I would have purchased a plastic $10 stool. I do like the stained finish but the plywood choice for wood cheapens the look. So the things that I like are voided out by the cons. A couple of other things I don't like are the fact that the product pictures don't reveal the screw holes on the stool. I believe the manufacturer could take some time and fix that problem. The underside of the stool aprons are very rough and cracking. All in all this product is ok. This product is rustic but I believe additional care needs to be taken to ensure better quality overall. I wasn't expecting to get this model and purchased a different design and so for this reason I am a little disappointed.

I absolutely love my step stool. I was thinking it was going to be too big but this step stool is just perfect. I hate plastic furniture, I really didn't want metal and I couldn't have found anything more fitting. My kitchen is small but it fits into the most perfect space where it's readily available. I love the antique look. I was really happy and very pleasantly surprised when my husband opened the package and brought it to me. Keep up the good work!

First of all let me state, what other's have. This is a great product and well worth it. It is very nice to walk into my house, and see a product that says "Welcome Home". This purchase just feels like I went down to the local wood worker, and said Hey Sean what are you making today. What makes this experience even greater is the Customer Appreciation that was expressed. The Thank You note, and letter was very appreciated. This is the kind of Quality Company that I will definitely do business with in the future. This stool has beautiful natural detail, a nice sanded smooth but not glossed shellac finish, which I love. The best part is your money goes right to someone here in the USA. I absolutely adored the personal quirky letter that comes with it, it made me laugh. 😊 It is the perfect height for a squatty potty which is why I originally ordered it!
