I ordered this watch so I would have it by Christmas. What I got was someone’s used piece of crap instead. I got a refund and got the same looking watch from North Edge. The band was thin and cheaply made and almost too small for me. I got a refund. I told my wife that I really liked the style and really wanted the watch so she put in an order for another AVTREK. When I got the surprise watch delivered I was really impressed with everything about the watch. Unlike the North Edge I didn’t have to do a thing but put it on. The band was well made and thicker than the North Edge watch. I like the watch so much that I’m going to get a second one different color band. It’s a shame they don’t have one with a Tan/Khaki because I would have three AVTREK watches. The AVTREK Watch is a really good watch and a good value. I will patiently wait and hopeful AVTREK adds a Tan/Khaki band. And again the date, time, compass…everything was set. I never got a watch out of the box and didn’t have to do anything but put it on.

For the price and all of the features you get with this watch, it seems like a great deal so far. Love the look and feel, definitely has some weight to it which makes it feel high quality and durable. The numbers on the screen are definitely more dim than I expected them to be from the pictures but still seems easy to read overall. The one thing that concerns me is its made in China from a company I've never heard of and the first half of the instruction manual was in Chinese so hard to say how this thing is going to hold up in the long-run, but I'm hopeful. The compass seems pretty accurate as well as the elevation and barometer features.

Initial review Looks good out of the box. You will need to calibrate all the modes, the instruction manual was easy to follow. For the readability setting the LCD to L01 seems to give the best results between day light and backlight. I would like to see a version with a bright red LED backlight so it's easier on night vision. I look forward to seeing how the watch holds up and finding out how accurate the features are. Pros Easy to read screen under natural light, super crisp and clean. Backlight readability is good. Construction is high quality for it's price, the watch has a nice weight to it. Barometer, altimeter, thermometer, count down timer, step counter, chronograph, all without it being a smart watch. Cons The glass is a finger print magnet. (It doesn't bother me but I know it does some.) The screen can be difficult to read with some indoor lighting conditions.

I ended up getting this over one of the competitors which was cheaper and I'm glad I did spend the extra money. I really love all the extra features that come with this watch and it's also proven to be quite sturdy. I will admit it is a bit beefy but not over cumbersome. I like hoe it's a nice soft blue light and one last for 3 sec which helps to keep your position concealed. It does a lot of the stuff a smart watch does it just doesn't spy on you and report back to Uncle Sam or big tech. Get one you won't be sorry. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS

I normally give it some time before I review a product, and I was right to do so. I've owned this watch for about 2 months give or take, and this has been my experience. Normally when I get a watch, I want it to be able to tell time, and last longer than a gorilla in heat. Sadly, within 3 days I already had a few problems with heat and humidity. Unlike everything else, I forgot to take it off when I got into the shower and quickly found it had humidity within the watch face. Now, I'm no scientist, but I am an aspiring electric engineer, that being said, in pretty sure a half brained monkey van understand that water and electronics don't go together. My hopes were falsely met when the humidity eventually cleared up. And much like a sneeze, it came back again, but this time it stayed. Like a socially awkward relative at a family party they were never invited to. I detested having such a large faced watch that couldn't tell time. It was like having a car that reverses in drive, drives in park, and parks in neutral. Utterly useless. Eventually I decided to deal the final blow on this one sided suck fest. I took it on a hike up a river. The hike was great. Cold, moderately flowing water. Nothing above the chest. The waterfall was even better. The watch? Died 3 minutes in. Now I know how women feel. My disappointment was immeasurable, my money was wasted, and my watch is set to be burned at the stake for its crimes. Overall, if all you want is a watch that works, get something simple.

The watch itself is a bit bigger than I expected, both in depth and watch face, the watch itself requires all the settings to be baselined, it is not ready out of the box so keep that in mind. The altimeter send to be about +/- 10 feet so far, not sure on the barometric / air pressure since that's harder to get precise. I don't know if I'm calibrating the compass incorrectly but it's definitely off, but about 50 degrees, also the usual manual is in broken English and there was a business card insert that "translated" the functions, ultimately I don't think I would buy it again, it looks decent enough but the functions I wanted aren't so great
