Looks like it is part of the vinyl sliding door!
Looks great and is solid. Be sure you have enough room when the slider is open to pass through. Ensure the thickness of the slider matches the required thickness of the dog door. Overall great product.

Very good quality door. A challenge to install due to differences of makes and models of vinyl doors.
The install is a bit of a chore. You'll need to have above average home repair skills to figure out the best install solution for your door system. With this said, the final install was very nice and works well. My main concerns are with the gaps that remain and the fact you lose some width to enter and exit through the sliding door for us humans. You will no longer be able to move a large box of piece of furniture through this door after the install. It is possible to remove the pet door if the needed, but make sure you save any hardware removed. I had to reuse the original latching system, so if I ever have to remove this door, I'll have to re-install the original latch to restore the function of the door. As for the gap I mentioned, I plan on shopping for some sort of weather strip to install on the outside to help keeps the bugs and hot/cold air out. The door comes with a very thin rubber type seal that they call a draft seal. It's not meant to prevent creepy crawly things from working their way in your home.By the way, the Dog loves the freedom and is a very happy camper.

Good product
This is overall a good solid product and does pretty much what it is intended. A couple of very important things to consider is the height since may sliding doors vary in size and the thickness of the door for the product to fit. Because if it doesn't fit it won't work easily. My door was like 1/16 of an inch too thin but was able to get this product to fit any way, I would say the product should be produced a bit more thin like 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch to fit more doors and have some type of weather stripping material to help seal in place as an option for improvement and fit more sliding doors. The flap where you pet goes in and out was a little warped but that is minor it still works fine. Overall solid quality and functions as you would expect. I originally purchased the aluminum version of this product (used via Amazon Warehouse) and product seemed okay but was missing parts and you can clearly see this item for a little bit more money is a much better product since it made with a PVC/vinyl material very similar to what an existing sliding door would be made of. I would recommend this product but as I stated take the extra time to double and triple check the measurements or you may end up having to send back cause it doesn't fit.

Nice fit and seal! Requires sawing.
This door installed nicely and looks very good. One unexpected curveball was the requirement to use a hacksaw on the snap on seals/trim...I had to buy one and this delayed my install by a day. It really wasn't a great tool for the job, and the sawed edge looks a bit ragged as a result, but it's a shortcoming only I will notice. Also note that this product does require drilling four holes into the existing track to mount spacers and hooks for the dog door. I considered skipping these, but the seals will not fit right without them. I had to use every provided spacer and it was close. That brings up one final issue - the instructions were a bit unclear about the 5/16" space you need on the top trim piece. The space must be door peeking out, not trim peeking over.

Very well made and usable. A good kit for our kittens.
This is a very well-made and sturdy product. It slipped right into place in our vinyl sliding door, and seems very secure there (it does not rattle or wobble at all). It did take me a bit of futzing around in order to get a good, air-tight seal between the pet door and our sliding glass door, but all the parts are there to make it work. One of our cats was in a hurry and was trying to use it before I had even finished putting it in place. Our other cat was initially raised feral before we took her in and had her fixed, and she is suspicious of everything (they're all out to get me), so it took her a week to learn to use it; now, she goes in and out frequently. We're very please with our new pet door.

It appeared good but…
First of all, I’d say I’m a competent person putting things together but the video oversimplifies putting together. The concept of universal fit and adding shims seems like a good idea but, it’s frustrating. I’d like to see a real video where the installer puts it together several times figuring out what shim(s), or combination, works. The second issue is the part shown on page 7, step 8, pictures 20 and 22 doesn’t reflect a 1 3/4” door sliding into the part. The channel of the part is 1 3/4” on 1 side and 1 1/2” channel on the other side. So, either it fits on the pet door or the sliding door. If you do put the 1 3/4” on the pet door side, that means the sliding door butts up against the channel. So, long story made long, I’m returning it.

Good door, poor execution
Great dog door that fits well with our vinyl slider, but it does significantly reduce the amount of space when the door is opened. I'd be lying if I said the installation was easy - it took 2 people for several steps, and lots of trimming, customizing, and creativity to get some of the pieces in place and to fit correctly. Overall, it ended up taking several days to get installed because some pieces arrived damaged and needed to be replaced by the manufacturer. The instructions aren't great, so I'd recommend watching the video on the products main page to get a better feel for the install. After all is said and done and for close to $300, we probably should have just had a general contractor put a dog door in the wall.

Great Product, some issues with installation
I bought the extra large version for installation on a 1 5/8" thick (Canadian) patio door. The product itself is great once installed, but there were issues with installation.1) The distances for installing the hangars are from the bottom of the patio door track. But my door rail is obviously much higher than expected - if installed as in the guide, the hangars would just sit in the holes, doing nothing. I recalculated by positioning the hangars in the holes and measuring from the top of the door rail. The instruction should be from the top of the rail to account for different rail heights.2) You are supposed to have a minimum 5/16" gap when installing the "H" section. But what if the gap is greater than 5/16"? Mine had to be more than 5/16" to allow the pet door to sit flush against the patio door. No big deal to fix - I used white duct tape inside and out to hide/seal the gap - but instructions should account for this.3) The lock catch - my lock seems to be standard, exactly like the first photo in the instructions. But my 1 5/8" door sits way out in the door seal extension - right at the extrusion seals. So all the shims combined were not sufficient to install the lock catch. I had to add 3/16" more in shims to get the lock to work (7 shims total! - awkward!). A 1/2" shim would be useful for 1 5/8" doors.4) Draft seal - there is only enough to install on the inside of the door - yet a similar gap also exists on the outside. There really should be enough to install over both gaps.5) Just a note on the door seal extrusions - they really need to snap (loudly) into place. This really isn't evident in the installation video. As to the pet door itself, works great for our 4 cats (the smallest is 12 lbs). The door closes snugly with the magnet in the middle, and the cats have no trouble opening the door by pushing it in at the edges. The door itself is thick soft vinyl, so it doesn't hurt cat tails that follow through on the side later. The door does a good job keeping wind and bugs out too.Update: Just a note that this door is not suitable for a northern winter, as you might expect. I kept mine in place until temps dropped regularly to around freezing, and at those temps, with a breeze, a lot of cold air seemed to come inside around the cat flap. As it is usually breezy and colder than that around here (Ottawa) in the winter, the door had to be taken out (as I expected). A 10-15 minute job to do that, which would have been much easier to do in warmer conditions :-)

The measurements are different than ours. This is manufactured in California USA. I had to do alterations to the frame in order to make it work. Also it is a single pane glass. Concerned about when we get a cold spell, will the windows be covered with frost?
