Too cool! Quickly change from 2ft to 4ft antennae and back
Driving my Jeep truck daily I run a 2 ft. antennae, but when off road I typically run a 4ft. Always a minor pain to change, until now. Once quick turn, and one is off and the other on.

IMPORTANT - READ this review and VIEW the photo to avoid damaging/breaking the disconnect.!!!
Great concept, stiff retention spring that is somewhat difficult to engage/disengage.I have attached a photo showing the interior pin and the channel/slot so you understand how this disconnect works. Many customers have damaged or jammed their disconnects by not operating them correctly.1) You must press the antenna firmly down into the disconnect against the internal spring (see photo).2) While pressing down and holding down-pressure, rotate the antenna counter-clockwise about an 1/8 turn and release down pressure3) The antenna should then pop-up/out and disengage from the quick disconnect body.Caution - If you do not PRESS DOWN while turning the antenna, you will jam or shear off the retaining pin. Please look at the photo to understand how this quick disconnect works. If you look inside the vertically oriented disconnect tube, you will see the retaining pin, and also a coiled spring inside the tube. Disregard the large horizontal spring in the photo, that is attached to the disconnect insert - that is another FireStik product - an antenna flex spring that allows the antenna to flex/move when it hits a object.DO NOT grab a big channel lock or pair of pliers and twist (without depressing) the antenna disconnect because you will BREAK/bend the retaining pin or jamb it, rendering the disconnect inoperable (broken). Also recommend you keep this release properly lubricated to prevent corrosion from forming and freezing/fusing the connection.

Just what I needed for Jeep antenna
Bought an CB antenna mount for my Jeep Wrangler but when the whip is installed It will hit the top of my garage door / opening. The antenna mount is sandwiched between the rear door and the spare tire so it was tedious to thread the antenna on and off without removing the spare tire. Plus I was afraid I would cross thread the base because of the difficulty. This quick connect resolved all my concerns. I can take the antenna on and off within a couple seconds and it alleviates my cross threading concerns. Fit and finish are perfect.

Good, except the single pin design!
I use this with my Firestick Antenna (FS-3BK). It was easy to install between my antenna and my mount. Has come in handy when I've needed to hop out and take my antenna off really fast when entering a parking garage (I have an urban SUV). I like this over the other kind of quick disconnect because it's less obvious how to take it off, I think in my area it probably does save it from being stolen occasionally.I took off one star because it only has one pin that it locks down with. Fine for locking it down, but that pin becomes a pivot point when the vehicle is in motion. A better design would be 3 pins, each 120 degrees from each other, locking it from rotating in any direction. Honestly I probably wouldn't even notice it rocking in motion except that I have the antenna mounted on my hood near my windshield. If this was mounted on a front or rear bumper I doubt I'd see it pivot or hear it, but this is something to be aware of if you're considering a similar mounting location. That being said, it's cheap, so try it, and if you don't like it it's easy enough to remove it. You'll have to re-tune your antenna, but that only takes about 10 min?

Good quality
Seems like a bit better than other competitors quick connect I've used before. Seems like a good snug fit, but wish the round part was either nurled or there was some flat sides to really snug the antenna onto the fitting.
