Good, while not "Shiro"miso.
Much better than other brands that are claiming to sell "Shiro/Light" miso. While actual shiro miso is sweeter and lighter, this is pretty good. It does not say where it is made but mentions "Product of Japan". Ingredients are minimal and clean.Packaging - Plastic jar, with a seal you rip off before you eat the product.Recommended.

Do not buy
Does not look like the picture at all!!...it's shiro miso so it's supposed to be light brown in colour but mine is dark like black ...tried making soup with it but tasted so funky..it's been one year but I still couldn't use it. I wanted light miso not dark miso!

Yummy
Really adds good taste to my ramen and miso soup. For those who are used to the regular ramen and noodles, this is worth a try. Without Miso paste, there is no true Japanese ramen. It also tastes mild compared to the Japanese brands. Good product for starters who have never had miso paste in their life.

Awesome 👍
This is my first experience with miso. So I don't really know what the original one tastes like. I had ordered the shiro miso and I didn't know what to expect out of it. But the flavor surprised me. It did feel weird initially - my taste buds weren't accustomed to the malty, cheesy and the salty flavors combined, of the miso soup (this is the best description I could give based on my experience), but later it really felt hearty and comforting. The flavor though is really strong (atleast for me). So a little goes long way. It has a distinct sweet yet an overpowering aroma, so the smell may end up hurting your nostrils! But that's just how generally miso is - not pleasent smelling - so I don't really mind it. I would next want to try the aka miso too. The cost is also pretty reasonable for the quantity being sold. So thank you FOOD ESSENTIAL for introducing MISO PASTE 😃😊
