Update Sept. 02, 2020: After six weeks of usage as described below, giving KSL benefit of the doubt and increased my rating from 4, to 5 stars. Grinder has performed well so far. Coarseness adjustment range is satisfactory. Refilled chamber for first time yesterday; batteries noticibly weakened about one week ago, but still working. So going forward, I'll expect approx. two mos. usage per set of batteries. Love the large top button for easy usage.Summary: Purchased the KSL grinder for myself mid July 2020 for $23.90; overall it's working well grinding Tellicherry peppercorns, both coarse and fine grind, during first week of daily use for two meals both at cooking prep and at the table; the battery/motor combination seems good and strong. If you are missing the use of one hand, or are looking for an assistive device, then this may be very difficult to open for filling the hopper (I found it very difficult, and I usually open plastic bottles and pickle jars without much trouble); two hands should find little problem if any. I am tempted to give five stars rather than four. After a year or two of good usage service is proven, I would be comfortable buying again as a gift for family or friend. I would also be happy to pay another $5 or so more IF this were made here in the USA.More Detail:(I PREVIOUSLY had an iTouchless brand grinder, the one which uses six AAA batteries rather than four AA's, received as a gift; I see it on Amazon as "first available October 19, 2006", going for around $23; It worked great for a couple few years before the inside plastic structure broke into pieces where the batteries were held (poor design / material); also, the 6 AAA's were more difficult to load.)As for the KSL, it was packaged very nicely and I could see giving it as a gift without even wrapping it. Because of previous experience, with grinders and with a background in design, engineering, and manufacturing of rugged plastic products, I was looking for good design and execution detail especially in terms of durability. Upon opening, the overall product gives a decent impression. The way the plastic insides are contained within the metal housing should hopefully result in good durability. The design seems 'okay' on general overall impression, though the execution is slightly lacking in appearance detail (i.e.: some sharp edges and shiny surfaces on visible outer plastic surfaces, should probably be fillet edges and matte finish; and the rubber/silicone? bottom cover is okay but has uneven thickness around circumference, and is not concentric with / to match the main grinder housing diameter. I personally consider those to be very minor appearance issues, and hope they do not predict other problems.)Inserting the four AA batteries was very easy, (with slight difficulty putting the top button assembly back on). Upon testing, the motor seemed very strong, way better than I hoped and I now question other reviewers who thought it was weak, (maybe they had poor batteries?). Now I would'nt go back to, and would not recommend, any grinder mill which uses six AAA's.Filling with peppercorns was neither more or less difficult than other experiences. I kept testing the grind a little at a time and had to keep backing off the adjusment knob to get the coarse 'cracked' grind I prefer until I was a bit worried the adjustment knob would fall off the end of the threads. However, it worked satifactorily for several days before I tightened it for a finer grind for another dish, where it also worked well. If you are a stickler for the most coarse cracked grind, then I'm not sure if you'll be satisfied. However this is very subjective, and I did not back off the adjustment further to see if it would still stay together and give a coarser grind than I found sufficient.I believe the product pages on most of these products note that the grinder teeth are ceramic, though I've read a few complaints of plastic teeth on others which broke. (I cannot really confirm to tell by looking.)The KSL 'family' seems to be very concerned about customer happiness. They sent three or four emails since my order, and note to contact them for any issues or comments. I'll stay happy so long as the product functions well, and so long as they respond favorably if I ever have a problem with the product. I could see others giving this product five stars as reasonable.Note:I believe products like these should be designed and built to work perfectly for ten years or more with proper care and, in all the reviews I've read of various grinder mills, find it difficult to understand why some users seem to be satisfied if one works for only a year or two before breaking or going kaput.

Just received and used for my first ever use of battery operated salt & pepper grinder and impressed with the quality. Very easy to fill, use and clean. 4 double A battery's (Clearly marked) and easy to install without taking the whole thing apart is great. Adding the salt & pepper is easy as well with the wide opening. Just well designed and easy one handed operation. It's hard to impress me now days but have to say these look quality built. They look great and work perfect. Packaging and delivery was just as impressive. I'll make a follow up review after I've used them awhile but already expect they are here to stay.

The very best performing salt and pepper grinders/shakers. Ultra decadent and magnificent product. A really generous capacity for multiple uses. Easily adjustable with various settings. A very comfortable hold and the extra added feature of the blue light is useful and Ives off a nice glow. This puts a smile on everyone’s face and makes for an impressive gift.

No phone support number offered . Two little plastic tabs where sitting on the base when opened ( salt holder) where it connects to stainless (power motor/with batteries side). Tech support is Facebook messenger that appears to be auto response. I asked a question prior to writing this review and still awaiting response 15 min and counting !! . Poor service and poor quality control ! Chinese - Yes I Feel bad, but good luck finding a great electric salt and pepper grinder American made or I would have purchased it :/ If fast solution or improved / upgraded replacement parts etc come soon ...I will give a updated response in the future . Product looks nice and feels good & packaging is great:) Now 25 min and STILL awaiting customer response as to what's they are going to do!! ERRRRUp-date: Ok , I was a bit ruff on them originally when I gave a 1 star review. I am not sure if I can update to 4 since as I think it deserves a 4 if they hold up and this is a one off problem.In fairness I was miffed as it came broken ( partially ) . They sent a whole new salt shaker and it arrived in two days !!Also everyone in the house LOVES them :):)...So far they work good,,,Now if things break in the near future then I will update agin:)

High-quality packaging...very giftable. The shakers are beautifully designed with those sleek outlines. They look amazing on my counter. The products are solid, hefty and very well made. The scoop that comes with it is pure gravy. Always wanted one of these...I started using it the same night received and it's everything I expected and more. One of the best kitchen gadgets I've bought on Amazon. I hope continues to work as well as it does now - no issues at all.

It just stopped working out of no where and the one I have pepper in still works perfect! This is just annoying… here is update the company sent me a brand new set and very quickly. I love this salt and pepper grinder I could never go backUpdate it doesn’t work again so I would not recommend this at all! They replaced it once and now when I contact them and it’s still under warranty and nothing! Don’t buy!

The media could not be loaded.  Gave this a 4 star because the salt didn’t work right out of the box. The company however reimbursed me half the cost so very happy. We only wanted this for the pepper grinder anyway! Husband is a pepper fiend and absolutely loves this little grinder!

How did I not know these existed all my life? Love them, love them. Saw them on tv on one of my shows and had to order them. The are beautiful in design and so handy when prepping a meal. Manual mills are so last year. Highly recommend, great price, and beautifully packaged. Makes a great housewarming or Xmas gift.

The media could not be loaded.  I had such high expectations for this item, my mother in law has this exact set and it works like a dream, this one is cheep and won't even grind up pre ground salt and pepper. The worst thing is, to get a refund I now have to take time out of my life to find a printer to print off the return label and then find a way to the post office to return it to them. It's absolutely stupid, just for them to re package the faulty items and re sell them no doubt.This is the 3 item in a row I've purchased for myself on Amazon that has been faulty. What is going on? I don't mind spending the money on items but for them to be poor quality for the price we are spending is absolutely ludicrous.
