I already have the Baby Signing Time videos, which I used to great success with my first baby (she signed until she was two and her vocab was well-established). For my second, I wanted something that was more structured and with videos that would also be interesting to my now-three year old. The advertisement that this included phonics is what sold me on purchasing another pricey set. I had planned on letting these videos become the main screen time option in our house, but the videos are just not engaging. It's like watching a video dictionary, with these very brief sketches in between that don't always even include sign. And the CGI! It is really poor quality, kind of creepy to watch. After just one watch, my older kid was begging for something -- anything -- else to watch.I was fine just letting this go as a poor purchase (although I was annoyed, because this is EXPENSIVE), but the reason I felt compelled to write a review was that I received a note from the company inviting me to leave a five-star review in exchange for a $25 gift card to amazon. If they were offering the gift card just for writing a review (any review, an honest review), that would be one thing, but they are essentially bribing people to give a high rating. I was certainly swayed by all the five star reviews here -- it was a huge factor in why I decided to pull the trigger. The hand-written note they sent was an admittedly nice touch, but requiring that the gift card be contingent upon only a five-star review? That's not ethical. So here is my honest review.My recommendation? Pass on this product, and go with something like Baby Signing Time. Skip anything with flashcards. Babies don't need flashcards, they need parents talking to them and playing with them.

BSL has been instrumental in advancing the speech and letter/number recognition for my daughter, as well as teaching her some every day sign language. BSL comes with four videos and corresponding cards for each video, as well as an alphabet and number set. The videos are all very calming and insightful, but then upbeat and fun. It is a unique combination that keeps my daughter's attention and engagement. My husband ripped the DVDs to the computer so that they could be transferred to the IPAD for when we travel. As a parent, you feel better about screen-time if it's something educational that also brings joy to your child. As soon as the video begins she happy squeals and says, Hi Paulie. The cards are great to engage with her during the video or to use separate. We watch daily, sometimes more than once as she will ask for it.After completing near four months of daily watching, my only regret is that I didn't purchase it earlier (purchased when my daughter was near 20 months). If you have someone that is having a baby, this is a much better purchase than those tempting cute outfits, at least this is my future plan for any close friends/family that have babies.Not only is my daughter absorbing the information, but I as well. We have two deaf neighbors and as silly as it sounds, I felt uncomfortable engaging with them as I couldn't communicate with them, so it was just a lot of smiles and waving. I find myself using things I have learned in the video series to at least make an effort, and they are overwhelmed and appreciative of the gesture.Following Ms. Shelby's Instagram account helps with additional learning with Wednesday Words. She also has great (and funny) content and hacks for parenting. It is incredible how much of her heart and passion is in creating and developing BSL. My daughter loves the personalized Ms. Shelby/Paulie video that was created for her, which was an offer presented on her instagram account. It is mind blowing that someone still cares long after transaction is completed.As a Mom, my heart is so full and appreciative that I found BSL and the benefit it has given my daughter. I can't even begin to say how much my son's speech has improved thanks to Ms Shelby and Paulie. We started the DVDs 2 months ago just before he turned 3 and he can now say and sign the alphabet (okay, he doesn't do all the signs perfectly but still). He can also sing and do some of the signs for Twinkle Twinkle. The signing has helped so much when I can't understand his pronunciation, which has also improved thanks to the way all the words are visually sounded out on the show. The episodes are very calm yet engaging, and have quickly become some of my son's favorite things to watch. My only regret is that there are only 4 episodes!

Sadly I hope I can rerun it didn’t not work for my baby and the dvd quality isn’t to great in my opinion and a bit boring which is why my baby probably pays it no attention for the cost of the kit . A trust me I tryied over and over the the DVD’s first before saying they may not work . They have the right idea going but need to execute it better and have better quality dvd content that more entertaining . I wish I could return but sadly I have had it for to long . I guess it’s anthor investment in trying to expand my child’s knowledge probly won’t be the last time I try a new tactic to obtain knowledge for them

As a mom and pediatrician, finding a good reading program was super important. This one is really nice and move LO is attentive to the videos. We don't do any other types of TV as that is not recommended for children under 18 months but I do think the videos help to reinforce the flashcards. My LO is 15 months and we have been doing the program for about 1.5 months. I am impressed thus far. Whatever you decide to choose repetition and direct interaction with your LO will give the best results in regards to learning.
