My Bloody Valentine (1981) - Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray + DVD]

It's true, they restored all the fantastic gore that was removed in 1980 when censors castrated the film to appease a public shocked by the (then) new wave of graphic slashers. The result is a whopper of a film that is better than you've ever seen it before!You know the story - 20 years after a Valentine's Day tragedy, a little mining town holds another Valentine's Day party, only to have someone crash it with a pick axe.If you're familiar with the butchered version of the film which has been around for decades, this is a revelation. It delivers the goods and plays soooo much better. The restored violence and gore are really well done. Rather surprisingly, the uncut, uncensored version contains no additional nudity or sex; you would think we'd get some beefcake, hot dog & bun shots during the shower scene. And didn't I hear years ago that Tom Kovacs' character was brought in to have a fairly explicit sex scene in the mine? Well, that scene is no different here than in the old version, so perhaps not.Anyway, these are not major grievances and this amazingly high quality blu ray set is still worth every penny. Put it on, make some popcorn, pour yourself a cup of Fanta and turn the clock back to 1980!

Idk why Amazon lumps all reviews together for re-releases. However, this is for the 2021 Blu-Ray Steel-Book, of “My Bloody Valentine”. (1980)I am super happy with this purchase, & scream factory has done an superior job on restoring the un-cut version of this film, in all its gory glory! Looking at the theatrical, beside the unrated cut...you can see how much was left out of the movie. Hard to believe that the MPAA cut this film so badly back in the eighties. With the era of torture porn that has come, & gone. Good picture quality here. Not gonna be perfect for such a dark film, but it is what it is. The audio is suppose to be HI-Def as well, but I often found myself turning up my sound bar during the quieter scenes. Maybe I just need a new sound bar. Anyhow, I am beyond thrilled to own this cult classic, finally. Along side Valentine, (2001). Which scream factory also released two years ago. Both superb holiday slashers. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great movie , and excellent presentation and content. My only issue is that, like many other reviewers have mentioned, the steelbook case arrived dented. Not worth the hassle of returning, but beware that the odds are stacked against you of receiving a perfect case .need to improve packaging bitof bubble wrap or like the old days a small box.

As far as Valentine’s Day horror movies go, there aren’t too many but this is the king of them all. It’s a fun, underrated independently made slasher with clever writing, gory special effects and great cinematography.I highly recommend buying this steelbook edition before they run out. The artwork is beautiful and could (should) be displayed on a shelf during the “season of love”.

Beware if you do not own a Blu-Ray player - this does NOT come with a DVD copy, rather 2 Blu-ray Discs featuring the uncut version of the movie and the theatrical version. This aside the product arrived perfect and met all expectations. The case and discs were undamaged and new and the film looked lovely. Highly recommend

Just watched the Robocop 4K UHD and it looked Flat and Desaturated.This Movie is Just 4K and Blows that Ultra High Definition Robocop Expensive Version out of the Water!This Movie Looks Incredible.If you have Never Seen this Film, this is the Version you should Watch!!!

Scream factory distribuye una versión muy superior a la de Paramount, pues pule la imagen y sonido notablemente en la versión sin clasificar, dando el mejor trato posible a los fotogramas descartados (que son muchos) para que en su momento de estreno en 1981 pudiera obtener la clasificación R. El segundo bluray es la edición teatral. De esta forma tenemos la edición de cine y la edición extendida en una calidad notable; además tiene varias bonificaciones respecto a la realización de este Slasher. Por lo que hace al steelbook, es hermoso y de una gran calidad. El único detalle es que ambas versiones solamente tienen audio y subtítulos en inglés.

The My Bloody Valentine (1981) Limited Edition Steelbook - Blu-ray is a great deal! It has 2 disc, one uncut and one theatrical release with lots of extra bonus.If you look close at the film you will of course discover several errors such as when the actors are drinking beer as they are going down the mine in the carts have 2 can opener marks on the bottom, indicating that he Moosehead beer cans are empty! LOL! Regardless of minor errors or goof-ups, it is still a classic horror films and one of the best ever made in Canada.

アンカットとありますが、肝心のゴアシーンが何箇所かカットされてます。すでに出回ってる海外バージョンを含めて全てカットバージョンです。本当の意味でのノーカットバージョンは日本劇場公開版のみ。もう二度と日本劇場公開版を見るのは困難なようですね。ただ映像がそれなりに綺麗ですので星２つです。
