Chamomile is one of the most popular herbs in the Western world. There are two plants known as chamomile: the more popular German chamomile (Matricaria recutita) and Roman, or English, chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile). Although they belong to different species, they are used to treat the same health problems. Animal studies have found that low doses of chamomile may relieve anxiety, while higher doses promote sleep.Digestive problemsChamomile has been used traditionally to treat stomach cramps, irritable bowel syndrome, indigestion, diarrhea, gas, and colic. It helps relax muscle contractions, particularly in the smooth muscles that make up the intestines. But there are no good human studies on any of these conditions. One analysis of several studies found that product containing a combination of the herb iberis, peppermint, and chamomile seemed to help relieve symptoms of indigestion.Gingivitis, mouth soresChamomile has been suggested as a treatment for these mouth problems. But so far there is no evidence that it works. When used as a mouthwash, there' s some evidence that chamomile may help prevent mouth sores from radiation and chemotherapy -- but here again, the results from studies are mixed.Skin irritations, eczemaChamomile is often used topically in a cream or ointment to soothe irritated skin, especially in Europe. Most evidence comes from animal studies, not studies with people. Two studies in people found that a chamomile cream helped relieve symptoms of eczema.Plant Description:The tiny daisy-like flowers of German chamomile have white collars circling raised, cone-shaped, yellow centers and are less than an inch wide, growing on long, thin, light green stems. Sometimes chamomile grows wild and close to the ground, but you can also find it bordering herb gardens. It can reach up to 3 feet high. German chamomile is native to Europe, north Africa, and some parts of Asia. It is closely related to Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile), which, although less commonly used, has many of the same medicinal properties.What's It Made Of?:Chamomile teas, ointments, and extracts all start with the white and yellow flower head. The flower heads may be dried and used in teas or capsules, or crushed and steamed to produce a blue oil, which is used as medicine. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this Tobacco Absolute Essential Oil has such a rich, deep, and complex scent. It’s not overpowering but gives off a cozy, smoky warmth that reminds me of fine tobacco without the nicotine. I love using it in blends, especially with vanilla or patchouli, to create something truly unique. It’s become a favorite in my diffuser and even makes a great base note for custom perfumes. Definitely worth trying if you’re into more unusual, grounding scents!

The smell is like super concentrated fresh tobacco, so rich and deep it's chocolatey. The scent is very long lasting. I put a drop on my wrist to test how it evolved on my skin, and i could still smell it when i woke up the next day.It would've been 5 stars but the bottle leaked in shipping and i lost about 1.5ml.And all the bad reviews regarding the thickness can be chalked up to ignorance, it's supposed to be thick, it's an absolute oil not an essential oil. Absolute oils are thicker and more concentrated. Thinning it 50/50 with alcohol makes it usable with a dropper.

So my 5 year old has had severe warts for 2 years now. Around her fingernails on every finger were absolutely covered, they were down the side of her hands, across the back and were starting to pop up on her wrists as well. We have tried; OTC medicines (every brand we could find), visiting the doctor to have them frozen off, a 3 month round of ranitidine, injection into the warts, homeopathic topical treatments, duct tape, and apple cider vinegar treatments. Nothing worked and in fact many made it worse, or would begin to clear it up and then suddenly the warts would come back 3 times worse.With this history I had minimal faith that oregano oil would work but we were desperate to get rid of her warts (they affect her pencil grasp), I figured for the cost of this bottle it was worth a shot.I am so glad we tried it, even my husband (who tends to call my essential oils my "hippie smelly oils") is amazed at our results. The first night we used a q-tip to cover each wart on her hand completely with the oregano oil. We did end up accidentally getting some on her healthy skin and she cried that it burned, so we washed her hands about 15 minutes after we applied the oil. I thought for sure that with washing it off after such a short time the treatment would be useless. To my amazement within 3 days almost all of her warts had peeled off - not turned black like they did with every other treatment but literally began lifting off so she was able to peel the whole wart off and leave healthy (but red) skin underneath. We waited two weeks and noticed that a few warts were still lingering (in the areas covered by the most warts so they may have been skipped in the first treatment), we again covered them with the oil being extra careful to not get any on her healthy skin. Success, no stinging - until she wiped her face and got the oil on her cheek. So we washed her hands again after the oil had been on for about 15 minutes, as well as her face. Her face had a red dry scaly area for a few days where the oil had touched but the warts all peeled off within 2 days.She has been wart free for over 2 months now which is amazing, if they do come back I have plenty of oregano oil left to treat her. The skin around her fingernails is still a bit red but it has been through a lot the last 2 years so that doesn't surprise me. We are sold and my husband is a believer in my "hippie oils".I think this story shows that Eden's Garden makes essential oils that are just as high quality as the bigger (and far more expensive) brands out there for a fraction of the cost.April 2015 Update:Still no warts! I had one wart pop up on my hand a few months after treating her and used the oil on myself and it worked like a charm!

Received today along with a sample gift of Skin Love Essential Oil.This CO2 extraction method is said to be gentler & superior to non CO2 method. The Chamomile German CO2 essential oil is supposed to penetrate skin better & with consistency , should see results in less time. I’m sure to be ordering from Eden’s Garden again.Arrived on time & packed well.
