Long wear gentle on lips, compatible with Mac lipglass
I am really hooked on this lipstick! It's very long wearing and it's super gentle on my lips. I've tried long wear lipstick in the past and found that it dried my lips out too much and irritated them, like it sucked the moisture out of my lips. This doesn't do that at all! They feel very comfortable underneath, no itching, and don't feel dry when I take it off at the end of the day. It has a really pretty matte sheen, and I like the scent, kind of vanilla.Let me address some common complaints among other reviewers and why I think they're wrong. First off, it is really easy to take off if you know what you're doing. Oil takes this stuff off quite easily, so do some makeup wipes. Most lip balms will take it off as well. For example, I use laneige lip balm at night and it takes it off just fine. Put some on, rub your lips together, and then wipe off with a tissue. Neutrogena makeup wipes also take it off.Secondly, I do agree that this product is very sticky. I have found that I can put my Mac lipglass on over top and now it's not sticky anymore! Also the gloss gives it a nice sheen or glitter depending on what shade of gloss. And most importantly, Mac lipglass does not take it off, yay!Third, because oil takes it off, depending on what you had to eat, it will or won't survive your meal. So some people say they had really good luck with it lasting all day, and other people complaining that it's worn off after a few hours. I think it really depends on what you had to eat that day. If I have something light and non-greasy for lunch like sushi then my lipstick lasts the entire work day without needing a touch-up. If I have a lunch that's heavy on oil, like salad dressing or a lot of butter, then I have to reapply after I finish eating. But one touch up in the middle of the day to freshen up the center of your lips is no big deal! That still wayyyyy beats any kind of conventional lipstick.Fourth, your lips need to be totally clean and oil free before you apply. And this stuff takes about a minute to set. So if you're putting it on, say, on top of lip balm, it isn't going to be long wear lipstick. Likewise, let it set well before you go off for the day. If I get lipstick on my teeth, it's usually during this period where it hasn't set yet. If that happens, I just wait until it is set, and then wipe it off my teeth with a Kleenex. Not a big deal at all!Now on to the colors... I am extremely fair skinned (usually the lightest color in any foundation brand), blue eyes, cool undertone, and brown/ reddish hair. On me, I really like the way dreamer and lover look. Very flattering and works well if you have cool undertones in your skin. I like poet, but it's almost a little too orange/ coral for my skin tone. I agree with other reviewers that seductress doesn't look at all like the photos online. That shade is way more brown in person. Like a '90s brown... I'll probably wear it some, but definitely not the most flattering for cool toned skin. I definitely plan on buying another color or two. At this price point, it's pretty easy to experiment. Do yourself a favor and give it a try!

Perfect lipstick!
I got this in a natural looking pink shade and I’m obsessed! I just wore it for 6 hours and it didn’t budge at all even while drinking water or eating snacks (not a full dinner so not sure about that) and then on the drive home the dry feeling was getting to me so I thought I chewed the lipstick off to be more comfy but got home and saw the color is still perfect even though I tried to demolish it. Great staying power! Yes it’s drying but I’ve found that to always be true with matte lipsticks.

Beautiful Color and Long-Lasting Matte Finish
I recently bought the Maybelline matte lipstick, and I absolutely love it. The formula is smooth and applies easily without dragging or feeling dry. It has a true matte finish that looks elegant and chic. What I like the most is that it feels comfortable on my lips. Many matte lipsticks make my lips feel tight or flaky after a few hours, but this one stays soft and lightweight. The color payoff is amazing – one swipe is enough for full coverage, and it looks just like the shade on the packaging. It also lasts for hours, even after drinking coffee or eating light snacks. I only need a quick touch-up after a full meal. The size is perfect to keep in my purse for on-the-go application.

They really do stay. Some drawbacks.
I have these in many colors, and have been wearing them for years. The good:These have the best staying power of any liquid lipsticks I’ve worn, and I’ve tried many popular “long-wearing” formulas from both mid- and high-end beauty brands for comparison. During Covid mask-wearing, these were the only ones I trusted to stay in place and not transfer. I even wear them when at the beach, because they are opaque enough to block the UV rays better than any SPF balm, and I don’t have to reapply…they stay on in the water! (I’ve even read that Olympic divers and synchronized swimmers wear these during competitions, and I believe it.) I also wore these when skiing, because the layer of product kept my lips from drying out in the cold and wind. It didn’t rub off on my gaiter either, which was impressive. I’ve worn them when I had fast-paced days at work, when I knew I wouldn’t have time to check my lipstick or reapply. I’ve napped in bright red lipstick on a white pillow, without fear. I’ve worn them when skating outside, while I was sweating a lot and drinking water frequently, and they stayed well. You get the picture.-The price is very reasonable for how much product you get, in my opinion. And I’ve used $34 liquid lipsticks that didn’t perform as well.-There is a nice, large range of colors, and most of them (except for some of the scented special-edition ones) don’t have a noticeable smell, which I appreciate. I personally hate when a lipstick has an intense, cloying vanilla scent.-The nude shades aren’t my faves. I can get a prettier MLBB look with other formulas. But it can (quickly, before it dries!) be smudged out thinner with a fingertip or brush, if you want a bit of a matte stain effect. I do this with Ruler sometimes.-I find these comfortable for me to wear all day; I’ve never had any of them make my lips feel rough or cracked, or cause stinging. My lips feel less dry when I remove it at the end of a day vs. when I had no lipstick or balm on.The bad:-The flip side of their great staying power is that they can be really annoying to remove. It can take multiple passes with a cleansing balm, and lots of rubbing. The best method for me has been using some cotton rounds and the waterproof-makeup-removing micellar water, followed with my regular cleanser.-There seems to be some formula inconsistency between shades. I love the color Dancer, but tried 3 different tubes, and it still feels more viscous than other shades, and has a tendency to flake more. Irritating, because it’s my favorite color. Some, like Ruler, Pathfinder, Exhilarator, and Lover, apply more smoothly. But then Romantic and Heroine look patchy? Pioneer always feels sticky, and never quite dries. It’s weird.-If you apply too far into the corners of your mouth, you might see a little color gum up there. And if you apply too far inside your lips, it might roll off in flakes onto your teeth.-After eating something oily, or drinking, I do sometimes have to reapply a little, if it rubs off enough on my inner lip that there is a visible line when my lips are closed. This is worst with the darker reds, and Artist. I can reapply the color well enough over it for a touch-up, but if you look closely, you might see some rough patches where the original application wore off.-These lipsticks do leave little flakes on cups and utensils sometimes. And those color patches will not come off of your dishes in the dishwasher, FYI. Scrubbing required, LOL.As with any long-wearing lipstick, exfoliating your lips before application is key, if you want it to apply smoothly. These don’t work as well if you apply lip balm under them, and applying lip gloss over tends to make them wear off unevenly, in my experience. I don’t bother with lipliner when using these, personally, as feathering and bleeding really hasn’t been an issue.
