I use gloss black on classic cars. No doubt most of the other options (silver, white, etc.) in the 12-ounce Dupli-Color acrylic lacquer cans are just as good. The clearcoat, in my experience, is weak but harmless; it adds depth rather than gloss. Lacquer is old-fashioned paint with pros and cons. One of the pros is that new coats seemingly dissolve into old coats, which means that you get thickness instead of multiple layers and that you can correct mistakes much more easily than you can with enamel. Usually these Dupli-Color cans spray very well. The lacquer paint comes out fully atomized and, unlike its enamel competitors, it dries very fast. With preparation and experience you can spray it on "wet" without much worry about runs or orange peel. The texture of a "wet" application is like a satin sheet.

Beautiful finish, No spray booth or exhaust fans, no sanding, buffing and waxing, just 2 finish coats of spray , no black gloss finish sprayed underneath, as you can see in the first picture just sprayed clear on top and it came out nice, this is about 2 hrs dry and it a nice gloss in my ebike front fender

Good product better buy it while you can before it's no longer available this is something that's going to disappear off the shelf soon

Bought this after reading a review and it’s perfect! I use this when building scale models and it “plays nice” with all the paint types I use. It’s easy, clear and makes my paint jobs pop.

It covers, but sheen is uneven. If you are covering with a top coat, then it really doesn't matter.

Came out great with minimal skill. This is the first time I've ever used spray paint and was truly happy with the result. I painted a wood vanity top black. The lacquer is hard and resisting water and holding up great in a bathroom, and as long as you don't gob it on the result looks amazingly consistent.
