Portable and functional, but buttons are confusing and sound is marginal.
The Good:It works. And it’s portable. And it pairs quickly (at least to an iPhone). The Bad:Cheaply made, and it shows. Speakers in this bluetooth speaker device were apparently an afterthought. The WTF?:The song skip and volume control features are ON THE SAME BUTTONS.Comments:It’s cute. It works. You could take it to the pool or the beach and with all the background noise you wouldn't even notice that the sound is ‘meh’ at best. How ‘meh’?I listened to ‘Best of Both Worlds’ by Van Halen, streaming to the Fibonic from my iPhone. Sammy Hagar’s voice was ok; not great, but enough for a 4 out of 5. But sound quality went downhill from there. Eddie Van Halen sounded like he was playing the cheap Ibanez Stratocaster I got in 1986 for $125; but it was still Eddie playing it, so, well, 3 out of 5. But Alex Van Halen’s drumming was a cacophony of indecipherable cymbal crashes and what sounded like someone breaking glass: 2 out of 5. And if Michael Anthony was playing, I couldn’t tell; this speaker has almost zero capacity for bass: 1 out of 5.In short: this speaker will not satisfy any audiophiles. It may not fully satisfy anyone at all. Sound-wise, its the speaker you use because you left the other ones at home. That, or you simply don’t care that Taylor Swift sounds a little like Tina Turner. Now, about that WTF … for whatever reason, the Volume Up and Song Forward controls share the same button; likewise the Volume Down and Song Back. So…when I went to turn up the volume, I invariably skipped ahead to the next song. When I tried to skip back to the last song, I turned down the volume. What gives? Apparently, if you want to skip ahead or back a song, you press the button once, and quickly. If you want to change the volume, you have to hold down the button for a while until the volume changes. What this thing should have, like any device designed by people who actually listen to music, are dedicated volume and skip buttons. Especially for $30. At least you can control volume and skipping from your iPhone/Android. In short, this is just poor design. And here’s a bonus WTF?: Every time you turn it on, a heavily accented female voice tells you that the device is discoverable by bluetooth, or that it’s connected. Given the marginal sound quality of the speakers and the fact that English is clearly not the female voice’s native language, it really took some careful listening to decipher: “Duh bootoof dewice es reedy tu pear.” Huh? We listened again, carefully … ah! “The bluetooth device is ready to pair.” Ok …Bottom Line:I can’t see paying $30 for this. $20 maybe. It comes with a USB to Micro-USB cable, and a male/male 3.5mm aux cable. Even then, $20. Tops.Sample provided for honest review.

Good portable bluetooth speaker
This is a good bluetooth speaker. You can connect your, phone, tablet, or any audio device with bluetooth or has a regular headphone jack. You can also insert a SD card or usb drive with music files it will play them nicely. It also has a built-in FM radio which is a nice add-on. The feature I like the most is that it has an output audio jack where you can connect it to any audio device that has a audio in jack. That way, you can add bluetooth functionality to that audio device. The sound quality is ok, it is loud but lacks bass. Every time you turn on the the speak, it has a funny female voice that says, "the bluetooth device is ready to "pell" (pair)". When it is connected to a device, the female voice will say,"The bluetooth device has connected successfully". I found these announcements extremely helpful since you don't have to check the connection status yourself.

Not the best quality, constant buzz, confusing buttons
Ive tried approximately 15 mini speakers this year, most were priced between 20-30$, some of them were comparable to brand name ones when it comes to sound quality, but I definitely cant say that about this one. I was quite excited when I first ordered it, dont let the pretty looks fool you. When I unpacked it, the black part of the speaker (the screen in the front) literally feel off. I wasnt sure if this was some sort of a design feature at first, but even if so, its highly annoying. I snapped it back on, but if I carry it around in a bag, it will keep falling off on its own.The unit does not come with any kind of a manual, although there is some, quite confusing info on the box. You get a USB cable for charging and an audio cable if you want to use it with a device that doesn't support Bluetooth, such as radio or older laptop. Personally I use my own as the two that come with this speaker are Very short. Especially the audio cable is basically useless because of the short length. The design of the speaker is quite cool, the top lights up when in use. Measures approx 8.5" x 3" x 3", larger than most portable speakers I've tested. One would assume that since it's so much bigger, it will also sound that much better. Wrong. There are 4 buttons on top of the speaker, the on/off switch is on the back next to the USB port, SD card slot, headphone and AUX jacks. Another reviewer here already pointed out the most ridiculous "feature", I have never seen it on anything else - the volume buttons are the same as the "skip song" ones. Sounds weird, i know. Turns out that if you want to skip a song you click once, if you want to turn the volume up or down, you hold one of the buttons longer until you reach desired strength. This is definitely extremely confusing and enough of a reason for the manufacturer to put a manual inside the box. At 30$ you would think they would bother. When it comes to the sound itself, its pretty crappy, im not going to sugar coat it. I am far from a sound snob, honestly I dont even care about "bass" or anything like that. I do care about buzz though and this baby provides that CONSTANTLY. Plugged in or via bluetooth, its buzzing at all times. Its not too loud so you can cover the buzz up by turning the volume up high but still, Ive had a ton of other speakers that were much cheaper and sounded 10 times better. The hardware is on the cheap side, I already mentioned that front falling off, that speaks for itself. When you turn the speaker on, you hear a lady voice telling you that you just entered either the bluetooth mode or AUX mode. Its kind of annoying, nothing against heavy accents (I have a tad bit of an accent myself actually) but when it comes to having to listen to that over and over every time you switch the mode or turn it on, its... well, it just sounds silly.CONS:- short audio and USB cables- zero bass- hardware on the cheap side which would be ok if this was half the price that it is now- constant buzz- no manual- the lady voice is just unnecessary- 29.99$ is way too much for what it is- its actually pretty big, still portable of course but too big for a pocket, if the sound was very good, this would make total sense, but it sounds like a tiny little speaker. So it doesnt make sense.- Volume button and skip song is the same. Confusing.PROS:- pretty design, i do like the colors you can choose from (i ordered the white version)- can be charged at the same time as plugged in via AUX- 6 hours of play time on full charge- lights up when its on- supports bluetooth so you can use it with your phone/ipad without a cord- bluetooth pairing is easy and fast, i tried with both Android and Apple (IPad Mini 3 and IPhone 5)- the SD card slot and USB slot is the best part. No other speaker that Ive tried had those options. You can play music directly from a card, the slot is good for both regular size and mini SD, or you can play it from a USB stick.Bottom line, I do like the way it looks and the SD and USB options are GREAT, i would totally forgive the hardware being slightly "cheap" IF the sound was better or/and the price was lower. I'd say 2.5 stars out of 5.
