Nice lightweight knife with many uses
Nice light well made knife, the blade is hard and keeps a good edge. I carry it clipped to the inside of my pocket very handy.

The very best EDC knife
I've carried this knife for years... the photo is of my original red handled unit that I just replaced because I have misplaced it somehow. The knife is super lightweight. It opens very easy yet will not open in your pocket. The blade is serrated so opening boxes is a breeze. It's super inexpensive so if you have to sacrifice it for some reason you haven't lost a days pay. This old one shown had been sharpened many times. I loved it. I miss it. I use it for everything... even opening pull doors so I don't have to touch the door going into a restaurant. Just pull it out of your pocket and pull open the door with the aluminum handle. The new one I just received was the EXACT same knife function and feature wise. It's open on both sides. You can wash it; put it in the dishwasher. To me it's virtually perfect. For less than 40 bucks just get it. You're going to have a new long term relationship! Now, Gerber... please bring back the red!

Sharp knife and a fair price.
I find Gerber knives usually good quality and good price. This one was sharp put a wee bit stiff to deploy. I will have to work with it to make it deploy quicker.

THE BEST pocket knife I've ever owned
I got my first Gerber Harsey Air Ranger knife about 10 years ago. I returned another Gerber knife I owned to their repair center for repairs (Gerber guarantees all their knives FOR LIFE !!) and they couldn't fix it because it was a discontinued model--so they offered to give me a knife from their current catalog (of equal value) to replace mine. After looking through their catalog, I spotted the Harsey Air Ranger (all metal, with checkered aluminum grips) and I chose it. When it arrived, I didn't know if I liked it or not. It didn't look like any of my other Gerber's, and it was WAY LIGHTER! Gerber's have a nice heft to them, and this one didn't, but I put it in my pocket and hardly noticed it was there. Hmmm, lighter might be better for a pocket knife anyway I thought. The aluminum grips were very light, strong, and checkered like a gunstock. Even when wet, they allow for a good grip. I never baby a knife, (even if it's an expensive one) as I use my knives every day, from cutting cardboard boxes, rope, wires and wood. A knife must earn its keep--if its going to be in MY pocket. My original Air Ranger is still in my pocket, still working every day--just like me. When I've finally sharpened it down to a nub, I'll start using my new one from Amazon--though that probably won't be for a least another 10 years or so. If you're a working man like me, you can't go wrong with a Gerber Air Ranger which was designed by a world class custom knife maker (Bill Harsey). If I could change one thing about the design of this knife, it would be to round off the square edges on the handle, to make it more pocket friendly. I've modified mine with a Dremil Tool, to perfection. It comes in and out of my pocket smoothly, and doesn't wear out the pocket liner on my jeans either. I've uploaded some photos, in case anybody is interested in doing the same.My only beef with this knife is it's now only available in the half-serrated blade style. I prefer a smooth finely honed edge. Serrations are for steak knives and kitchen cutlery. I use a Lansky 3-stone hone to keep mine razor sharp. My blade has the original AUS-8A alloy steel, and you can shave with it. Several years back, on an extended hunting and camping expedition, I actually did just that.

Lost my last one after 4 years. Would buy 100 times over
I had this knife for 4 years and then misplaced it at a hotel. I repurchased this one as a replacement. I would buy it again and again if I lose it. I carry this knife EVERY SINGLE DAY and I use it for something just about everyday. I use it to cut my kids food when we are out, I use it to cut strings off clothes, open packages, you name it. This is the PERFECT pocket carry knife. The clip is tight but not too ridged so it quickly comes off and goes back on my pocket with one hand. The swivel is not loose but easy enough to open with a thumb or hard flick. The lock bar (and this is important because a ton of knives screw this up) can be easily pushed aside to allow for one handed closing - because the lock bar is a different metal entirely from the frame. The blade held its edge with only semi-annual sharpenings (which for my level of use is impressive). Some might say its a bit big for a pocket knife, but I have found its length quite useful (especially for food with toddlers around). It allows me to cut fruits and breads that a 1-2" knife just wouldn't do.I cannot praise this knife enough. I find them on sale occasionally and give them out as gifts to everyone I know.

Great folder from Gerber
Knife is extremely sharp, appears to be well made. Opens easily and light enough to carry comfortably. The photo shows a metal tab on the blade for easy one handed opening. MY came absent the tab but decided to keep the knife anyway.

Exactly what you would expect, as advertised. For the price a great value.
Like the slim, lightweight and design. Blade seems to be a quality steel that holds its edge well. Easy to open and close. The clip is close to the end so the knife does not show a lot when clipped to the pocket. Good purchase.
