Life GearRed Glow Stick & Flashlight with Whistle & Lanyard (LG115)

I bought one of these at a big box store and it has been handier than expected. First off my 4 year old son loves it and takes it with him everywhere, no more disposable glow sticks! On the adult side they are cheap enough to have one in your glove box, camper, by the door and just about anywhere you can think of. The flash light while not very bright works well to light your path or find something under the couch. I personally like the glowstick mode, I set it on the picnic table at night and it sheds just enough light. FYI there is a timer on the light so it can not be left on to die. I have bought quite a few of these and have them spread all over. I have recommended it to others on several occasions.

I think the build quality is very good, for the price - comparable to the Duracell ones I tried at the store. The light output is very good, and the modes seem to work well (though I don't use the other modes). I tested the whistle feature in the woods, and it works well (though not as good as smaller metal whistles). It held up in a light rain, and the o-rings look like they'd hold up to a quick dunking in water. For the money, this seems like a quality lightstick.

I originally purchased this for my emergency kit in the car. I like the fact that it has a pretty powerful (for it's size) LED flashlight as well as a warning light and whistle. As a single female traveler (the majority of the time) who goes on long car rides, I felt like this was the best combination of things I might need at a reasonable price.I've had an older version of this product for a few years and while (thankfully) I haven't had to use it often, when I have, it performs well. I haven't had to change the batteries yet, but, as I said, I don't have to take it out too often. The light is good for when I had to change my tire in the dark one night and the whistle is VERY loud.The one I purchased recently is for my office's fire emergency kit. We recently had a fire drill and the illuminated shaft made me easy to spot for my fellow co-workers (I'm the Fire Warden for our Suite). While I didn't have to use the whistle to startle anyone out of their offices, it know that if I had - it would have been effective.My only complaint is I wish the illuminated shaft was a little brighter. It's fine in the dark, but if you need to turn it on during the day (as I did for our fire drill), it's not as easy to see. Overall, it's a good product and does exactly what it says it will.

These slim, lightweight flashlights are simply great little powerhouses. I have them tucked away in just about every drawer in my house and in my emergency preparedness kit, as well as one in my car's glove box and another in the emergency auto repair kit in the trunk. I give them to friends as gift "bouquets" in a variety of colors (one for the car, kitchen, bedside table, garage, etc.). The 200-hour lifespan and their multi-use functions (flasher, flashlight, glow-stick, whistle) make them indispensable. The leash cord allows me to put one around my neck for dog-walking at dusk, and during power outages, I wear one on the "glow" setting to light my way while I'm searching out candles and matches. Their long life, multiple uses and low cost make them an emergency essential to buy by the dozen.

Had these a long time ago for my kids and now I bought them for the grand kids to use when they are out playing in the evening

I keep one of these in my flight bag for seeing in the cockpit at night. Red light is better on the eyes at night... and it works decent enough for that. However, the Flashlight part of this light is pretty useless because it's very dim even with fresh batteries. Also, the button can easily be bumped, turning it on and possibly draining the batteries. For the price, it's not bad though... just don't expect something it's not.

I recently received the little bright light recently, ordered it to replace one I’d used for several years. This little glow light is super bright, I use it every night, keep it under my pillow to turn on as I get out of bed to make a trip to bathroom. It has a handy ribbon I attached to use around my neck if needed but just leave it on the bed to brighten the room enough don’t need to take it with me.

To replace battery, just undo the single small Phillips screw, then unscrew whole upper light section. Shake/tap upper section so the LED and battery module fall out. Replace with 3 LR44 batteries. Follow instructions in reverse to reassemble. There are also instructions on YouTube. So silly manufacture didn't make this easier!
