All of the fruit for this Private Reserve Pinot Noir came from the (Rogue Valley AVA), Deer Creek Valley within the Illinois Valley, specifically our Hillside Select Block. Deer Creek Valley is nestled between the Coast Range and the Siskiyou mountains. This provides us with warm days and cooler nights. Moderate yields of 2 tons per acre, loamy, and well-drained soils with a wonderful growing season led to an abundant harvest with full flavor development at optimal sugar levels and balanced acidities, giving the wines a great balance of moderate alcohols. Winemaking: All of the Pinot Noir was fermented with native yeasts and then 20% of the wine was put into new French oak barrels and the rest into 2, and 3 year old French oak barrels where it underwent secondary fermentation.
