Change For the Better
This book is the full version of three novellas which follow jilted groom Elliott Chandler (on his wedding day, yet!) and international corporate finance gay playboy Derek Windsor from the Seattle airport to the island of Maui in Hawaii, and back again, and back again, ad infinitum. It's a sweet, exceptionally scorching, tale of two mid-30s professionals caught in a serendipitous romance which has "no strings" written across it from the start...until things change. And change they do, for the better. The first two parts are told from Elliott's point of view, the third part from Derek's. Without tipping you off as to how it starts, proceeds and ends (all of which will give up the spoiler ghost), let me offer the following observations:1) It's beautifully written and captures not only the deep feelings of each character, but also is a lovely travelogue of Maui and another smaller island, Molokai. The thing you get about Elliott and Derek is that they are sort of Northwest versions of the East Coast upper-middle class white guys, well-turned out, very intelligent, imbued with rapier wits, somewhat hesitant to be hooked (again, in Elliott's case, for ever in Derek's). The descriptions of the island, and island life, are simply told but could not be better if you had a four-color brochure or accompanying video.2) The plot line is carefully, and very logically, drawn out, moving along at a pace that is comfortable, one that inevitably leads you to realize what is likely to develop along the way. You probably will be wrong in that estimation, because there are one or two nice twists, one seriously not nice twist, and no punches pulled.3) The sex is amazing and frequent.4) Finally, there is a tirade near the end by one of the characters that is so deeply drawn and felt that you almost cannot believe it comes from this character--until you realize that author Witt has built his persona up along the way to make it logical that the words would come out of his mouth, because they come from his heart.5) I argued with myself that I really don't like the cover of this book so much because the sunglasses on these guys make them look too much alike--until I realized, in the end, that they are almost identical psychological twins. Pretty neat trick, Ms. Witt, and one I absolutely loved.

Nice series
Getting off the GroundElliott Chandler, groom to be, left at the altar. Sitting in the Seattle airport, watching a blizzard, knowing he wasn't flying to Hawaii today. Going on his honeymoon alone, either a really good or a really bad idea. Derek Windsor, fellow traveler, strikes up a conversation with Elliott. When the flight is cancelled, they spend the night together. Elliott worrying about how fast they have come together. Derek doesn't do relationships, he just wants to spend the night with this hot, sweet man. What happens come morning?Infinity PoolsDerek convinced Elliott to spend two weeks on Maui with him. As soon as the plane lands Elliott starts second guessing himself. He doesn't do this kind of thing. Derek quickly makes him forget any doubts. They spend their time together hiking, making love, sightseeing, making love. They even go for a night out thinking they might try finding someone else for the night. When they go home together it's exactly what they want to do. Then they realize they've fallen in love. Living thousands of miles apart. Can they make it work?On the ListElliott and Derek are getting married. They are both excited and full of hope. Deciding to settle in Hawaii, they are getting married on the Washington coast. Wedding list is being checked off. Both men enjoying their time together in the countdown to the big day. They go to Derek's parents for dinner. His family tells him they won't be going to the wedding because they just can't support his life choices. He tells Elliott that it's ok, he still wants to get married. The night before the wedding the celebration is in full swing when Derek's brother shows up and again tries to talk him out of it. Derek goes for a walk on the beach and considers whether he should get married. Is getting married worth giving up his family? Sensing Elliott he looks at the man he loves and comes to a decision.I enjoyed these books and these men. How they learned each other was was like putting a puzzle together, a piece at a time. Elliott so unsure and Derek so self assured. The sex is hot, and the characters likable.

Hawaiian Fairytale
Hawaiian Fairytale - LA Witt is one of my favourite writers and this book confirms her capacity to write wonderful stories full of feelings, heat, and sweet HEA.In this case, the setting of this modern day fairytale is Maui and you will just want to be there with Elliott and Derek sweating up the trails to secluded waterfalls (I have pinned each one on my Google maps for my future vacation on the Pacific island...), swimming in an infinity pool at sunset, and just relaxing in bed all day.Two of the three parts making up this book are written from Elliott’s POV; the last one, from Derek’s POV, deals with the only controversy of the entire story and at first I had some issue switching POV and adjusting to the new writing rhythm. But at the end, the fairytale was almost complete.Very enjoyable!

Not to be missed. Glad this was a freebie, but I'd have happily paid for it.
LA Witt's pretty much an autobuy for me, and this didn't disappoint. This book consists of 3 novellas, but tbh, I hadn't read the blurb - I'd simply grabbed the book when I saw the author's name - and I wouldn't have said they were novellas. Yes, there were parts 1,2 and 3, with the latter being written in Derek's POV, but it all read seamlessly, and ended perfectly. The leads do start off as a holiday fling, but it's clear from the start that both are good for each other, as despite being the opposite of each other, they really want to spend time together and both start to change their ideas of love, loving and forming something lasting.I really liked that the tale didn't end at the end of the holiday, as that would have been too 'yeah, right', so for me, the epilogue that came about a year later, with the start of their HEA, was perfect. I'm a romantic first and foremost, and this tale, from start to finish, satisfied in every way, but especially with the final chapter.

Disappointing
The story was nice, Derek is left at the altar and goes on the honeymoon anyway, meets a charming stranger and has a holiday fling that's more than either of them bargained for. My disappointment was with how much sex was written in and, suprisingly, how much kissing. I'm not a prude and am perfectly happy to read smut and kissing of any kind, but I got bored. It was just endless. Don't get me wrong, it's always well written when it's L A Witt but, sorry, it didn't do it for me this time. Also, the family surprise was so unconvincing. Apart from that - nice story.

One word: WOW. :-)
First of all, I greatly appreciate LA Witt gifting us with a complete story. Not a lot of people do that these days, so thank you.And now, the review: wow, where do I start. This story is amazing. It has everything you want in a romance novel: interesting, relatable characters, a strong story, and lots of great sex. I was intrigued from the first page and was fully invested in Elliott and Derek's journey (heh!) by page 5, after which I could not stop turning until I had finished.I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling the story for those yet to read it, but I can say that if you are considering reading a fantastic, brilliantly-written M/M romance novel, Changing Plans is the one you want. Easily the best romance I've read all year, het included. I will certainly be reading more from this author!

Close Call
Beautifully written story of Elliott and Derek. This is 1-3 in a trilogy, so they get their HEA. I Loved the banter they shared and their steamy passionate loving. I definitely recommend this enveloping story. I might read it again in the future.

Amazing!
Truly loved this book. This is my first book from this author and I am happily impressed. Started reading with the intention of spreading it out over two nights but ended up reading straight through until 330am. With a great balance of scenery setting and character interaction, this story develops at a nice pace. The author conveys emotion very well throughout with thoughts, looks and touches but keeps it upbeat with the wit of both Derek and Elliott.I definitely recommend reading this book and cannot wait to read another by this author.
