Mudd Works Whole Bean Coffee, Heavy Number Blend (16 oz)

I don't think it's worth the price tag. I've tried it in my French Press and my AeroPress and didn't like it. It wasn't bad, but for the price I was expecting either a punch in the face of caffeine or slap across the taste buds in flavor. However, I did do a concentrated cold brew with it, then added a splash of chocolate syrup and it was a lot better. That's how I'd recommend brewing this coffee, as a cold brew.

If you call yourself a coffie connoisseur and you've never tried Mudd Works you are being sadly let down by other wannabe rosters. One drink and you will be sold and left wanting more

This is an excellent blend that I recommend for espresso. It is also good as drip coffee but perhaps better in the espresso machine.

Consistently, one of the best cups of coffee available in Portland, thusly anywhere. Lately, in addition to the year round Heavy Number blend, my wife and I have been enjoying their Ethiopian, Sumatran and Nicaraguan offerings. The owner/roaster knows just how far to take the roasts of the beans he sources, and really allows the individual nuances of the varieties to shine through without over roasting and having the body and origin flavors fall away. He's an expert at achieving excellent balance of acidity with the flavors and full body your paying for. We really like how the beans brew up in our french press especially.

I have been drinking Mudd Works coffee for the past 4+ years and, frankly, it's fantastic. The Heavy Number is great if you are looking for an espresso roast but they have a wide variety and I'm sure you can find the one that suits your tastes. I know the owner and can tell you that I haven't met anyone who takes greater pride in the product he presents; Mudd Works is a great cup of coffee.

Man, this coffee is awesome. Bold but not bitter. What more can you ask for? Having moved away from the Pacific Northwest, I've been missing great coffee-- now I don't have to! Thanks to Mudd Works for sending me a sample-- you've converted me and I'm happy to tell anyone about it!
