Earphones still work just fine - pair/function just like any other Bluetooth earphones
I only got these earphones yesterday, so this is just a very preliminary review, but I wanted to immediately refute something that another reviewer has said... there's a review that claims these earphones are not supported by Philips anymore and should not be sold. I'm not quite sure why the reviewer is jumping to this conclusion. I can confirm, as of October 2023 (and surely for the foreseeable future), these earphones work just fine. They function just like any normal Bluetooth speakers/earphones - there are included instructions for pairing the earphones with your phone, and there is of course no need for any app to control the earphones. I think the other reviewer is just exposing their own tech illiteracy and would do well to take a moment to just look at the included instructions. You can find these instructions on the Philips website also by searching for TAA4205BK. Sound quality seemed good during a quick test yesterday, and the earphones seem comfortable. Let's see how I get on actually using them for running.

One way phone use
No good for phine calls. My caller can hear me, I cant hear any caller. I can hear music, they are comfortable to wear, and i have gone through all the settings but still i can not hear anyone who phones me. Bit of a waste of £50 unfortunately as who wants to listen to music, but disconnect and reconnect another headset when the phone rings... disappointing technology glitch.

Weak sound, difficult to use controls
The quick starting guide in symbol language is confusing at first glance, but then easy to understand and follow. Pairing went without a hitch, and so far, I did not have any connection dropouts. The outer part feels okay, the two sides are well balanced because of a counterweight to the controls on the other side, the hooks keep them in place, and measuring the heartbeat works, with results comparable to what my Fitbit says. Nonetheless, I am not happy with these headphones. - the in-ear part hurts after only a few minutes, something I experienced with no other wireless in-ear headphones, and I have tried a few - the sound is tinny, despite playing around with the app, not the full, pleasant sound I would expect from this brand and for this price - the controls are so near the head that you can't see the symbols, meaning it is quite a fumble to use them and find the right button, which is much too complicated to do while, for example, being on a run. So, all in all, this product does not fulfil my expectations or needs at all.

Great
These are the Philips TAA4205BK earbuds (you might have already known that). If you are looking for a new set of "sport" wrap around earbuds, these might be a good option. The build quality is okay, It's not bad but it's not great either, the plastic feels very cheap, the wire is thin and the buttons aren't very nice to press, but I guess that's just a thing with waterproof headphones. One feature I really like on these is the thing that pulls the wires closer together so you don't have a cable loosely dangling down the back of your neck, just pull on it until it's comfortable. The audio quality is okay, it's about what I expect for sport earbuds, don't expect to do any serious listening on these. Battery life is fine, haven't had to charge it once so far. Thanks for reading my review!

NOT SUPPORTED BY PHILIPS ANY MORE - SHOULD NOT BE SOLD
The app associated with these headphones and which is the only method of connecting via Bluetooth to phones has been effectively discontinued - almost all reviews on the Android app have now been made 1 star as it doesn't seem to work for anyone. The developers haven't contacted any of the reviewers or posted against any of the issues. As a result my headphones purchased in March 2022 (less than a year ago) are now useless.

We got the beat.
I've only ever owned one set of wired "wireless" earbuds before and I didn't like them. The wire got in the way and in any case, what's the point of having wireless earbuds when they're still attached by wire? However I got on a lot better with these and, hallelujah, there actually IS a point to having the wire. Or at least I think there is. I'll come to that. Philips is a trusted name and they've been around for decades. That counts for a lot and gives me confidence that these will last. I should point out that I'm not super sporty and I won't be caught jogging along the side of a main road listening to "Now That's What I Call Dad Rock" any time soon, so they probably won't get the same kind of hammering that they might in the hands of other reviewers. They feel a bit lightweight, but as I said, Philips is a good name and I have no doubt that they'll still be working this time next year. I installed the mobile phone app and turned on the little power button on the buds. The control box sits out of sight of course, but I had no problem in feeling where the little raised dot was. It paired up very easily and the app allows you to change the EQ of the sound - I didn't bother, it wasn't necessary - and also it gives access to the heart rate monitor. I'm guessing that it's this feature which requires the buds to be connected by a wire? My resting heart rate was around 68-70 according to this, and that seems about right for somebody of my age. I don't have any other way of checking it mechanically so I'll have to assume it's correct. At this point I swapped the earhooks for the little silicone wingtips. Earhooks are maybe preferable for somebody who is going to be throwing themselves about in a gym or bouncing up and down on concrete, but for me they're a complete pain to fit and I'm constantly aware that they're in place. The wing things were much more comfortable and so much easier to put in place. The silicone tips which were prefitted are just right for me and are some of the best that I've come across. I genuinely didn't know they were in after a while, but you may need to experiment of course. You get two more sets to try. Sound quality was exactly as I'd hoped, seeing as everything else was so good. Imagine being this pleased with something, only to find out that they sounded rubbish. No, they're excellent. Treble and bass are just right, there's no distortion, and vocals are clear. Lovely. I wouldn't suggest you buy these unless you need the heart rate monitor, though. This is a specialised item and you're paying a bit of a premium for that feature, so if all you really want is something to listen to music with then I'd say pay less and look elsewhere. But Philips have set out to provide a product which is suitable for a certain demographic and I'd say they've succeeded. Thoroughly recommended for those sporty types who come thundering past my gate at half seven in the morning and nearly knock me over as I go to defrost my car windscreen.

App non funzionante, accoppiamento Bluetooth funziona 1 su 20, non si conette cambiando device, suono pessimo, LED visibile solo a notte fonda, autonomia ridicola, no auto-spegnimento. Ora passo a prodotti cinesi puri, marchi occidentali da scartare a priori.
