Read the book, develop a plan and then initiate your first crowdfunding project. You can only learn so much from reading a book. Experience is the best teacher and the time to get started is now.

I found this book helpful. Especially learning about the pay it forward program associated with Kickstarter.It’s on a rare occasion that I download a book and start reading it right away. Plenty of books linger in my kindle on my tbr list. I read this book fast, probably because my friend and I are in the middle of a kickstarter campaign that is failing miserably.I skipped around a little in reading, just because some stuff I knew, and when you’re in the middle of a failing campaign you have little time.I especially appreciated that the author didn’t do overkill with the marketing, which is the case with a lot of these type books.This is an ideal book for beginners and beyond.

If you don't know anything [or not much] about Crowdfunding, this book will give you all the basic information. I thought it was quite helpful, starting from knowing nothing myself. It is well written and easy to read. It was an informative, entertaining, and fast read for me.However, if you already know a good bit about the subject, you aren't going to find any in depth information here - for a book calling itself the "Bible" of Crowdfunding, it would be reasonable to expect a little more deep coverage and more infomation on promoting and gathering support for your project.So, if you are starting with zero info, this book will definitely help you. You will get all the info you need to determine if crowdfunding is right for your project, how to set it up, and a little info on promotion. If you already know these things, you won't find any real meaty help beyond the basic how-to.

Generally I liked this book. Contains a lot of information how to prepare and manage your crowdfunding campaign, and what is important, to watch out for pitfalls and how to avoid them.It tries to be general to give advice on any kind of crowdfunding project, either artistic or small business; this a good and a weak point as well. Thinking about an IT project, I would expect a bit more practical advice and tips 'n' tricks.

This book provides readers with an extensive discussion on crowdfunding and the best way to exploit this type of financing. The steps necessary to prepare, launch, and follow through with your campaign once it ends are detailed along with important considerations at each step to help guide you to create a successful campaign. I would recommend this book to the reader considering crowdfunding as a source of funds for their respective project.

A lot of information but not an easy read. Doesn't really apply to the current day.

This "Bible" is skewed heavily toward Game Developers and deals mostly with techniques most applicable to that type of venture - but it contains enough general information to be worth reading I gave it only four stars because I feel the title is somewhat misleading. It's not a general "Bible"

There is a lot of good information here, but it is often quite difficult to read, with a lot of bullet-point lists instead of properly developed prose. However, the writing is reasonably good, which is a pleasant change. Some of the information might be a bit out of date (for example, when following up to find out more about the 33needs service, it appears that service is no longer available), but much of it is still very relevant. The focus is very definitely toward games, with the majority (if not all) of the quotes and examples coming from game projects; with a name like "The Crowdfunding Bible", I had hoped that it might provide a slightly wider spectrum of examples.

I really enjoyed this book and intend to use its great advice very soon in my own crowdfunding project. Would have liked an updated version though with less on Kickstarter and games. Nevertheless, a great read and well put together.

Some of it's just common sense, but there are lots of handy tips here for the first-timer, and the interviews at the end add some welcome colour. Right, I'm off to Kickstarter to do some more research...

Really enjoyed reading this & found it very informative. Best of all are all the stories about people who have successfully raised money with crowdfunding - inspiring stuff. Definitely would recommend this book.

Very good and important source of info about crowdfunding. Love it. I am sure this book is useful for anyone interesting about crowdfunding​.
