Short-lived treatment
UPDATE: I was young and foolish when I first reviewed this flotant. It still doesn't last very long, and that's aggravating, but I catch more fish when the excess powder comes off as the fly hits the water. Don't ask me why - maybe real bugs are dusty and trout recognize that dust means real food? Whatever. All I know is that when the excess Frogs Fanny comes off the fly, the trout like it. I'm not a fan of it as a flotant, but as an attractant, it's pretty darn good.----------------------------It works, but I don't like it. Unless you do several false casts, it leaves - not a slick - but a slick-like coating of excess flotant all over the water; and its effect does not last long. Two casts maximum and then the fly is drowning again.I've tried using only the brush, dropping the fly into the bottle and then brushing it, and just dropping the fly into the bottle. None work for long. It's the only flotant I have tried, and when the fly is dry and newly treated, it works like a charm for that first cast. After that, not so much...On the plus side, there's enough in the bottle to keep using it for a long time. Don't know how one reviewer thought there wasn't very much Frog's Fany in the bottle.

Great Dry Fly Floatant
I bought 2 of these as they are my friends' favorite fly dressing. I trust purchasing from FlyWest as I have bought from them before and they are great. I did research on Dry Fly floatant reviews and wonder whether Gink is a better (It still works fine but have to reapply too often to suit me and the can is getting empty..wonder why!)I do know Frogs Fanny is great but want to see if I will like Gink better. Stay tuned.Gink works well. I use it while on the stream most times as it is faster ande easier to apply than Froggs Fanny. Neither flotant works as long as I would like, but they are both about equal in keeping fly afloat. I'd give the edge to Froggs Fanny.

Really good stuff to refloat your fly after catching a fish ;-)
Excellent way to float a fly that doesn't want to float after catching a fish. If the fly is already wet, then putting gink on won't really help. Frog's Fanny by contrast will dry out your fly right away. I use gink on flies just after I tie the fly on the line, but I use Frog's Fanny to refloat the fly. I haven't found anything that works as well.

If you want to float, you better get this.
This stuff is magical. It will float anything. In fact, I coated my car tires in it, and drove it across a river. On top of the water. This stuff will make your parachute adams walk across the surface of the water like Jesus.Oh. And it makes a bubble around nymphs. I mean....who doesn't love bubbles? It works so well, that it made my size 18 bead head nymph float. IT DIDN'T SINK. Thats a true story, and don't you forget it.

This stuff keeps your flies floating
This product is excellent in keeping the fly on top of the water. Brush it in and I was able to perform 10-12 roll casts with the fly still floating that is a huge improvement with shake float I used previously.
