Not disappointed... great toy!
I was a little hesitant given some of the negative reviews, but I'm so glade we decided to get it.Yes, it is rather small, but since the wheels are completely under it there isn't any foot/legs hitting the wheels to worry about, which I like. Though it is small, it's perfect for her (her feet barely reach and she's about 29-30in tall) and I know even as she grows she'll still be able to play on it, her legs will just be more bent, but then again it's a scoot toy so I don't mind. The 360 swivel makes it really easy for my daughter to use. This was for her 1 yr birthday so she isn't the most coordinated and being able to go any direction is perfect. Some people said the noise is hard to get it to make, this I can't comment on. Since she has a lot of noise toys I just didn't put batteries in it, I didn't want it this toy for the "boink" noises it makes anyways. Also, there is a little squeaky horn thing for them to push in the middle which is good enough for me. If you're looking for the bump noise info see another review.Given her age, she's not able to control the direction, the "bumper" works really well against our walls and leather sofa like it says it would. The body of it is plastic, but it is a very nice quality so I'm pretty satisfied with that. I think it should easily be able to last with future siblings.I also like the retro look of it.Overall, I'm glad I didn't let the negative reviews stop me from this purchase because my daughter LOVES it, which makes me happy too!

Toddler loves it!
Our son loves this. I saw him riding one at daycare and saw how much fun he was having. Sturdy build, good thing because he slams into walls at max speed, and love the sound effects.

Fantastic! Worth every penny
When I opened the box, this little car was already put together! No assembly needed. It glides beautifully and the kids love it. And there are no marks on my hardwood floors. We bought two, for twice the fun!Update -- This is one of the best toys I ever bought. The kids ride on them every day. Inside and outside. One accidentally got run over by a huge truck, and the front was crushed, but it still rides well. These toys are tough. We have had them for almost 3 years and I think they could last for another 10 years, even with daily use. Love them!

Awesome Purchase
My mother-in-law heard about this toy in a radio interview and called me immediatly to order it for our son for Christmas. I was a bit skeptical at first, but he loves it so much it has won me over. I like the combination of fine motor (working the steering wheel and buttons) and large motor skills involved in using it. With the swivel wheels that are on the bottom it doesn't necessarily just go forward and backward like ordinary "ride on" toys for this age group. He and his sisters (ages 2,5, and 8) are having a blast with it. They ALL love to use it. I would definatly buy it again and plan to purchase one for future 1st birthday gifts. The only draw back (although could be a positive for younger children) is that is works much better on our hardwood floors as opposed to carpeting and tiled areas. We are lucky in this regard because most of our flooring is hardwood - but for those who don't have a solid surfaced flooring it might pose more of a challenge to get the full effect. On the positive side, it is designed to bump into things, and has not marred a wall, the floor, furniture or wood work. Someone was really thinking when they created this toy.

This toy is win-win
I bought this bumper car from Amazon when my son was 18 months old. It took him a month or two to figure out how to move it with his feet , but ever since it has been a favorite . A whole year later he still uses it and does donuts in our living room . I think this thing is awesome, lightweight, almost unbreakable, works great from the start, and incidentally is actually kinda cute . It did take a while for my son to have the 'weight ' to make the bumper noises, but in my opinion the fun is not dependent on the boinking sounds. It is a great simple toy. With the multi-directional wheels , I think Radio Flyer has won the market with this ride-on.

Cheap product.
This product was not what we expected for the price, it is way smaller then it was advertised and would not recommend to anyone.

Don't hesitate to buy this
I bought this for my daughter when she was not quite two years old. A year later, she still rides around on it daily. It is sturdy and she loves the crashing noises. Don't worry about it being too short. It's perfect for a two or three-year-old, but my daughter is taller than many four-year-olds and she fits on it fine. In fact, my 12-year old niece likes to ride it around! It's cute and a lot of fun. We have no complaints.

Expectations were higher
A cute little toy that I thought would be a better idea than it actually is. My 21 month old grandson does like it, but he doesn't love it. It requires batteries if you want the sounds. It makes funny sounds when it bumps into things, such as "boing-g-g-g-g", but it has to be a fairly substantial bump. The rear wheels in my opinion need to have a wider wheel base. My grandson wobbles from side to side on the seat, but he doesn't fall over because he doesn't go too fast, and he has a foot on the floor beside each of the wheels. Maybe the purpose is to begin to teach the type of balance that he'll later need to ride a bicycle (???) I don't know. He does sit on it and push himself around the room, usually for short periods of time. He speeds up and slows down. He gets off, plays with something else, then gets back on, and rides across the room on the car again.
