it works after you put it into the fixture. Otherwise it doesn't put our any light at all. And you have to plug the fixture into a wall socket. They don't plug themselves in. Perhaps they ought to invent a fixture that will plug itself in. You know, be drawn to electricity like the roots of a plant are drawn to water. This bulb puts out light for my plants in a terrarium. I'll ask the plants what they think the next time I think about asking them. I might forget to do that. Send me a reminder after I put some plants in there. Right now the potting soil is producing some "volunteers." They're too young to talk right now. In another three or four years they might be able to say something. I'll let you know.

I ordered a bulb to replace the one that burned out in my fish tank. The first one came in pretty bad shape. The packaging was beat up so I think it weakened in transit. It lasted maybe 5 minutes before it burned out. I requested a replacement and got it pretty speedy and the second one wasn't smashed up when I got it and has been on for a few hours so far so I think it's good. The weirdest thing though about both lights is that I ordered white for both to match the light I had before. They both give off purple light which really threw me off (you can see it in the picture). Minus the shipping miss hap, the light itself is ok, a little dim compared to the light I had before buying these. I would have preferred an actual white light like I had before, though. Seems like either a mix up at the warehouse or mis labeling on the packaging/site because those were definitely not white. Also, the 4 boxes in the picture is misleading too since you only get 1.Update* the second bulb only lasted for 10 hours. Horrible quality. Wrong color. Such a waste of money

People are complaining of how little brightness they have to then which true not as bright as day bulb and does look purple when look at it but really your fish don't like that bright bulb any way this is more natural to me.

I don't know why the picture is of 4 bulbs when there is not option that says 4 bulbs. The one bulb I got didn't work. It shipped fast, so at least the tank hasn't been dark too long while I wait. The bulb looks fine, but the box it was shipped in was huge (big enough to hold 4 or more bulbs in fact) so maybe it just bounced around too much.

I kind of figured for the price this was 1 light bulb but I think the manufacturer/seller should call out it is only 1 bulb with them showing 4 bulbs in their product picture

This is the second time I've bought this bulb and I still love it. This bulb gives a medium bright blue light that makes my tank look beautiful and my plants seem to love it as well. I have black gravel, drift wood, and many plants. The last bulb seemed to have lasted at least 9 months to a year. Good price for a good product. If I had the money I'd get an LED strip light but this works just fine.

I don’t know what happened but the day after I plugged it in, it burned out. I’m going to buy a different brand from a physical store to see if the same thing happens. If it burns out I’ll fix this review.

The light was a dim purple when I first installed. It flickered for a few hours and stopped working altogether.

Great light

Poor quality. Bought this on may 28th. It's already burnt out. I've had my tank since 2002 and only had to change the bulb twice before this lol. These should last for years.
