I was expecting incense bricks, as per the unique AMORC style, but was surprised to find upon opening the box, a bag of loose, golden powder - resins, herbs, etc. Even before I could prepare my just-got-home-after-work pot of coffee, and I had noticed this package arrived (super quick, I might add), I ran to my dresser to grab my last charcoal disk to engage this new olfactory experience - as I love incense. Lo, the scent is absolutely . . .majestic - and yet diverges greatly from the other rose-based incense produced by AMORC. This aroma is both sweet and serious - yes, just like AMORC's other quality incenses, but this one stands apart as something altogether different, as it is not rose-based. I can't quite discern what composes this blend, but it is far beyond anything I've ever experienced in every quality - though tantamount to AMORC's other incenses, as they are the most unique incenses I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. In fact, I look forward to sampling and enjoying AMORC's newer blends: Edith Piaf, Colombe, etc., as whomever manufacturers all of these incenses in France consistently delivers quality and excellence..Anyway, I would recommend Amazon suggest to consumers pairing this box with a sleeve of charcoal disks - like a 'Frequently bought together' or something. Be well,& Pax Profundis.

I really wish it was mentioned in the description or the title of the incense, that it is in powder form. A lot of people can't or don't feel comfortable using charcoal in their small spaces, making this nearly useless. You can use a heated system to try and smolder it, but it doesn't work will. I have another incense provider that gives me a candle lit element, with a metal top, to heat that type of incense. Since it heats the metal top with a candle, I thought I could put the powder on the metal top. It kinda works, kinda doesn't. Basically most of it doesn't get heated, only the powder in direct contact with the metal will get heated. So a small pinch of powder, anything on top, or pilled on the base of the powder will not heat enough to release incense.

Perfect incense, works well and it smells great

Bought this for a Christmas gift, my friend just be came a martiniste, and is something that he will need for his meditations.

This incense used to be in small brick pices, I préfèred the small brick pices, because I didn't need to have charcoal to light it. Now I can not light it with out charcoal. That's the only thing I dislike, beside that it's okay.
