Amazing !
I am so happy that I found this book. It truly is a great book. A must buy. I am polish but moved to America. Now I have a little one he is 4 year old and I want him to grow up knowing where his family actually comes from so I was looking desperately for a great book for my toddler I asked my parents to go to Poland and check the markets for some nice traditional books but my mom said it is a little difficult finding old fairytales combined in one book. So I was so happy to find this one and it amused me reading it.I love itI've heard some of those tales from my grandmother it is so nice to see that our culture and tales aren't lost yet.

Scary imagery but good book
Nice, quality book with great stories. (My husband is Polish) but I took a star away because I had to read the stories to my children without letting them see many of the illustrations. Despite them being from a profound artist, many of the images were scary to me as an adult and reading a tale before bed while seeing certain images could lead to a nightmare.

BUY THIS BOOK!!! You will love it!!
I love this book!! The illustrations are fantastic and not only that they are designs all hand cut with a Polish method handed down from generations--I learned that from the book as well! I am so happy with this purchase and will keep this book long after my kids are done with it.

I VISITED POLAND, WHICH IS HOT ON FAIRY TALES AND I WANTED TO BRING BACK FAIRY TALE BOOKS FOR MY GRANDDAUGHTER'S. UNFORTUNATELY, ALL THE KIDS BOOKS ON SALE WERE IN POLISH - EVEN IN THE TOURIST SHOPS!GOOD OLD AMAZON CAME TO THE RESCUE AND I GOT THEM ONE AGE APPROPRIATE BOOK EACH.LOVELY TALES AND QUALITY BOOKS.

These are beautiful tales with gorgeous illustrations - age group 7-11, probably engage the older readers more as they are quite long but great for any in that age group really. A super book.
