Allow for the extra length occupied by the Thumbturn axis.
While planning to replace a 2-key 45/40 cylinder (the 45 on the inside) with a Thumbturn model I realised that the Thumbturn axle occupies an extra 5mm length on the inside. So I ordered a shorter 40/40 model.Voila!The Thumbturn juts out out of the inside of the door by just the right amount and I am a happy bunny.

Flimsy keys and weak thumb turn
The key snapped in the lock on the first time closing , used the thumb turn and it spun and the broke off . I've had to snap the lock to remove it. Disappointed that you can no longer contact the seller to notify this defect. I would have given zero stars if I could as this is £15 down the drain.Not a happy customer at the moment.

Brilliant thumb lock
Needed new locks for old upvc doors, knew nothing about these thumb locks but liked the idea and turned out to be very straightforward and easy replacement. When the thumb is turned indoors nobody can get in without a key.Practised taking the old locks out first before ordering, and also to make sure I ordered the right depth of cylinder. Brilliant invention.
