My husband grew up in bc Luebeck, home of the best marzipan in the world. Eh, ok, it’s ok, an acquired taste. These candies had the right Amt of Marzipan plus a cherry in a bit of Kirschwasser. They passed too soon.

I GOT THESE BECAUSE THEY LOOKED LIKE REALLY GOOD CHOCOLATE COVERED CHERRIES. BOY WAS I WRONG!! THE CHOCOLATE WASN'T JUST DARK. IT WAS EXTREMELY BITTER. THERE WAS A CHERRY WITH A LITTLE BIT OF LIQUID, BUT TASTED NOTHING LIKE WHAT I EXPECTED. AT THE BOTTOM OF IT WAS WHAT THEY CALLED MARZIPAN. APPARENTLY I HAVE NEVER EATEN THAT. IF I HAD, I WOULD NOT HAVE BOUGHT THESE. THERE WERE ONLY 6 CHERRIES INSIDE THE BOX, WHICH WAS VERY OVERPRICED! BUT IN THE END, THAT WAS OK BECAUSE I JUST PUT THEM WHERE I SPIT THE FIRST ONE...IN THE TRASH! I LOOKED ON THE BOX TO SEE WHERE THEY CAME FROM, BUT IT WAS NOT IN ENGLISH. I DID FINALLY FIND THE WORD "GERMANY." I LOVE GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE. BUT I'M PRETTY SURE THAT RECIPE DID NOT COME FROM GERMANY! THE ONLY TASTE IN THE WHOLE PIECE OF CANDY WAS BITTER. NO SWEET TASTE AT ALL! OH, AND THE MARZIPAN HAD NO TASTE EITHER, BUT HAD THE CONSISTENCY OF SOFT GRITS! TRYING 1 PIECE WAS TRULY DISGUSTING!

These are actually pretty good! The marzipan mixed with a whole cherry makes for a tasty combo. They make a great little gift or stocking stuffer—especially since the price is surprisingly low. Definitely worth giving a try!

Excellent flavor, good amount of marzipan!

No sugar, eat a piece of bread instead. Not sweet, not interesting, not good in my opinion. Waste of calories & $. Maybe if you don't like sweets, this is for you.

The marzipan itself is not particularly good. It felt a bit 'crumbly' when eating it, not a solid marzipan paste. I mostly taste the cherry, nothing else. The chocolate is covered with the white film you get when it has been exposed to cold. Perhaps that affected the taste of the chocolate itself, which was pretty much none. The images on Amazon show the back of the box's Nutrition label, but that image does NOT include the warning that this product is unlawful to sell to persons under 21, because it does contain Black Forest Kirsch, which is alcohol. You don't really taste that much, either, but it seems to me that a warning like that should be given more prominently.

Marzipan and cherry and booze..what's not to love. Not cheap and you only get a few. But very nice.

Loved the mix of dark chocolate, cherries and marzipan hard to resist. They didn't last long!
