私立探偵 Nat Marleyシリーズです。 話の流れからすると、Level5 の East 43rd Streetの続編の様です。 私立探偵が心臓発作で倒れたホームレスの老婦人（Low Life）を助けるところから話は始まります。 その人助けが記事になり、それをキッカケに金持ちの老婦人（High Life）から仕事の依頼が入り、二人の話が 上手い具合にからみ合って思いもかけないラストにつながります。 非常に面白い小説でした。Kindleだと辞書がひけるので読みやすいです。 主人公は、Nat Marleyは小柄で頭の薄い、少しぽっちゃりした男で、元警察官。 なんとなく、相棒に出てきた矢木という中年探偵みたい。 因みに、私が好きな高橋克実さんが演じていました。
