This Is The Item To Purchase
For the price, this is above and beyond excellent price! We were thinking of renting one, but why when this purchase was cheaper! Strong, sturdy, excellent quality. It folds, arm rest move out of the way for easier transfers. Brakes hold even when on a down hill incline. Light weight. Can't say enough good things about this wheelchair! Easy to push even over carpet!

Great narrow wheelchair for adult
Great, narrow wheelchair. Easy to maneuver and light weight for a non-transport wheelchair. Easy to wipe down and clean as well. I use it for my immobile mother and it works well. Would buy again.

16" wheelchair is 38 lbs. Otherwise it's good.
The wheelchair is a decent wheelchair. I got the small one (16") because Amazon site said it was only 20 lbs. It didn't make sense that the 18" would weigh so much more, and i wanted a very lightweight one. It arrived, it's 38 lbs. I called the company that made it and their site says its supposed to be 38 lbs . They said they did not know why the Amazon site said it weighs so little. I was given the option of returning it, but I actually needed a wheelchair asap so im keeping it. As far as sizing goes, I took tape measure across my backside and 16" is wide enough for me. It's just wide enough for me to sit in with a small space next to me. However, had I gotten the 18" there would been space next to me for my purse or basic items. The 16" would be great for youth and smaller adults. 18" is probably better for normal size adults or smaller adults who want more room. The wheelchair is a decent price and is easy to maneuver. It is a decent basic wheelchair. If your hallways/ doorways are wide enough and you are an average size adult, I'd probably recommend the 18" instead of 16" one. If you want anything lighter than 38 lbs, this is Not the right choice for you. If the Amazon site was not updated, call the manufacturer and they will confirm the weight.

Perfect size
Good size. It is smaller than a standard chair, just what was needed. The feet come off, chair folds easily and stores in the trunk of the car.

Excellent at price point
This chair is awesome at this price point! I use it indoors only and it works well. It's light and easily manipulated by someone with 2 bilateral amputations. It fits easily through doorways, even older homes like mine. It can be taken outside. My only concern would be premature tire wear. They're fine for inside but the rubber compound of the tires may be damaged by outside surfaces. But truly a fine chair for the price!

Great Chair
It is a wonderful chair. Quality is great. The locks were hard form me until I put the extensions on them. Now they are perfect.. As for the people complaining about falling apart...I think it is because they are so rough with them......

Bad Brakes!!
Most unsatisfactory Brakes. It's all I can do to operate them and I'm a 190 pound man. There's no way the 82 year old women that needs the wheelchair has a chance of operating them. There does not appear to be any way to adjust them. Also, the wheels slip on a hardwood floor. This is not as serious as the brakes, but it is annoying.

Bought chair 4 my mom she loves it well built very sturdy

The brake levers, while very effective when engaged, are very difficult to apply due to the short lever handles. A senior with minimal arm/hand strength will have difficulty engaging the brake handle. It should be 2 “ longer to allow smooth action. I will put a 1” pvc pipe sleeve on mine to make it easier to engage. A decent chair for the price. Cushion NOT included. It needs one. Folds easily for transport. The front wheels are large enough to easily travel over bumps but get in the way when trying to get seated or unseated. They will bang into a foot when not in the stirrups. Recommend for modestly impaired user.

When I bought my first manual wheelchair, online, I was without a family doctor or therapist and didn't know much about the chairs. I didn't know the range of sizes beyond childrens', adults', and bariatric. I bought a Drive one that had an average 18" width of the seat and frame and have used it extensively after learning on my own how to operate it (having no caregiver to push me in it). As I progressed to needing the chair more, I saw this Medline chair with a 16" seat on sale and decided to buy it for use at home, to keep street grit off my floors and carpets from my older chair. I'm amazed at how much easier this one is to manoeuvre! The tight turning radius makes doorways and turning around in my kitchen so much easier! As a smallish adult (5'3"/115 lbs), the size is just right for me, and so easy to handle. When I can squeeze it into the budget, I'll get a second 16" Medline to have one indoors and one out -- having almost got trapped in a medical building's small elevator recently with the larger chair -- and donate the larger one to my local Red Cross for renting out.
