Party Charades Game – Contains 550 charades – Great Family Game for 2 or More Players Ages 10 and up by Outset Media

I bought this game to play at Thanksgiving. We had a group of 18 divided into two teams. FUN is an understatement! Everyone had a blast!

At it's core, it's Charades. But this game is an improvement over writing your own "words" on scraps of paper and then pulling them out of a hat. Each card has 5 words (or names, or phrases, etc.). And each of those "words" have their own point value assigned. During each turn, the "actor" tries to get the others (the "guessers") to guess as many of the 5 words as possible within the time allotted (more on that in a moment). But picking the order of the words can get really interesting since you have to consider both the different point vales and the perceived difficulty of the words. That is what makes this game more interesting than the old DYI version that we used to play when we were kids. The time allotted for you to act out all 5 words is 30 seconds, which goes by in about the wink of an eye. (The game comes with the quintessential 30 second game sand timer.) We decided that 30 seconds just wasn't long enough for us, so we used a timer on our phone instead. And we doubled the time to 60 seconds. Out of 20 cards (10 per side for a standard game), we only had one time where a team was able to get all 5 words. Most of the time we only manage to guess one or two words. But of course, your mileage will vary and you might want to adjust your time accordingly. Maybe we'll improve over time and eventually find 30 seconds reasonable? (Then again, maybe not.) If you like to play games with others, you should certainly add this to your game collection. I like games like this were everyone gets involved, each person gets a chance "on stage" (or in the hot seat, depending on your perspective), and things move along at a brisk pace. IMHO, it's these attributes that make it a great party game.

Played this at a family gathering and we had so much fun. Some reviews said the cards were too difficult - they do have many modern shows/movies that make it tricky if you’re not up with the hip crowd, but if you get really creative you can make those work. We also took some of the younger kids aside to prep them (with appropriate cards) for their turns and they also had a blast. We used a one minute phone timer instead of the little 30 second sand timer the game comes with. We will definitely be playing again!

Fun game for adults/teens some of the words would be hard for children , but overall fun game

Its easy to learn and hard to master, some are hard to pull off and get correctly, its alot of fun to play with family and friends
