When the chopper clear plastic jar breaks, can a glass jar be used?

The plastic on the bottom of my chopper broke at the threads. I could not find a glass jar that would fit, but when I was looking I found that a pint size canning jar will work great if you put the top into the jar opening. It will slide down just enough that if fits snug enough to let me use the grinder. Then you can transfer the nuts to a smaller container of if you want put a lid on the pint jar to store them in.

I want to chop small dry dog kibbles into smaller pieces but not pulverized pieces. Would this work?

I have used this product for that very purpose. It works quite well to chop kibble, but not powderize it. It does take a little muscle to get the job done. The only drawback is longevity of the chopper. The blade mechanism broke on my first chopper after about 8 months. The threads of the base container broke on the second one I bought after about 10 months.

I want to chop almonds, almonds are not as soft as walnuts - right? will this chop almonds . . . and last for a long time chopping said almonds?

The treads cracked, but I can still screw it together. As far as the chopping, I am pleased with it, using almonds and pecans, walnuts, and others. It was used for breakfast by my family, and a few recipes. I was just upset that the plastic threads broke in 4 months, because it chops the way I like it, course or fine.

Would this chop garlic?

Almonds are hard, and this chopper chopped right thru them. I bought this for the purpose of chopping Almonds and Walnuts. If the garlic is wet, it may not chop to well, but if the garlic is dry, then I think it would chop it. I say go for it... this little thing is rather cheap, and if it doesn't chop your garlic, it can chop your nuts for baking.
