250x76mm Traditional Letter Box Plate for External Front Door (Polished Brass)

I had waited for ages to paint and decorate my porch and we had an old Brass letter box that was over 25 years old and really needed to retire. I had looked for a while to get another letter box that was really good quality. after a lot of searching I ordered the chrome letter box and I was not disappointed.- Quick delivery- packed really well- great instructions- High-quality heavy letterbox- very easy to install.The letter box is held on by two screws at the back, which you will need to cut to size. Other than that it is a very easy installation. and looks amazing.

This letter box delivered on all fronts. It’s nicely made and generally fits as expected. Only thing to watch out for is the size of the opening. Of the letter flap. The inside of the letterbox on our door needed a bit of adjusting to allow for the flap to open.

Nicely made and sturdy

I've had a number of slots where the flaps quickly lose their springy-ness, and get damaged due to overeager posting through of slightly too-large packages, but this one is sturdy and can cope effortlessly with bulky consignments. It looks and feels appealing and slid in comfortably when fitting, and the usefully long screws are far preferable to the shorter, not-quite reaching the nuts variety. Recommended.

This doesnt come with nuts to fasten the plate to the door. I'll need to source these separately in a hardware store nowAlso. The Fixing bolts are so long that they need trimming. So you'll need a saw that can cut through a metal bolt!

Tried a few over the years and this one is solid and looks very much the part. Had difficulty fitting and even although measured for ordering had to alter the gap between screw fixings to fit onto my door. Certainly had to saw bit more off door. Overall love the letter box and put door handles on to match. Looks the part and certainly worth the purchase.

Only time will tell if it tarnishes or not, but it is pretty sturdy and solid - rightly so because it was not the cheapest I could have bought. But installation was a bit of a bother...Almost exactly the same external size as the one I replaced but I had to move (and countersink or it does not sit flush and wobbles) holes slightly further apart; plus the slot In the door needed trimmed by a couple of mm on all sides to get it to open. For me, it was not a straight swap.

I bought this to replace a letter plate of the same size where the spring had gone. The wind would open it making the hall very cold. This one is wonderful, nice and strong and deep enough for my boxed parcels.
